You couldn't have scripted that.

Just like Cresse's HR in Omaha in 98

Stevenson in the game now for the East team

Not able to watch the game but there is pitcher on Ron Polk's team that throws 92mph and has 4 pitches, with both hands. Saw last week on the CBS news his glove has six fingers so he can switch it while on the mound.

He pitched earlier and struck out the side.

Heck yeah and he was saying, "Get out"
Was great. These wooden bats have more pop over the current college bat it seems. Even Stevenson has a homer in summer play.

Guy was impressive. He won MVP and also had a permanent smile on his face the entire time. Reminded me of Ibarra.. which by the way makes me feel bad he wasn't drafted after returning to school. Hopefully he can catch on to some baseball somewhere..

Recap:
KRob made a couple of defensive plays. 0-2 at the plate.
Chinea crushed a HR while Mainieri was being interviewed. He had another loud fly out. Threw out a runner trying to steal second. He looked confident. 1-2, HR, R, RBI.
Hale was 2-4 and scored a run.
Laird had a single which drove in Hale from 3rd. He also stole a base.
Stevenson hit the ball on the nose twice but both were caught. He also made a nice diving catch like he makes for the Tigers.
The commentators spoke highly of the LSU program throughout the game.
Good job by all our guys.

Ibarra is the student asst coach for next year.
Free agent deals if not drafted are less appealing for baseball, might as well stay in school and finish your degree

Wareham's Chris Chinea (5) rounds the bases after hitting a home run during the Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star game.
West teammate Kramer Robertson (wearing a single white sleeve a la Jacoby Jones) congratulates Ryan Perez on getting the game MVP for their team after the Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star game at Doran Park.
quote:
LOOKING AT LSU: After finding out that five of his players were named All-Stars, Louisiana State University head coach Paul Mainieri made the trip to the game.
"I think it's really kind of a unique situation when you have five players from one team," Mainieri said. "I thought it was important to come up here."
Mainieri watched as Kramer Robertson, Conner Hale, Mark Laird and Chris Chinea started for the West, and he saw Andrew Stevenson work as a reserve outfielder for the East. Chinea had a home run to left to give the West a 2-0 lead.
Mainieri, who was an All-Star when he played with the Wareham Gatemen in 1978, said that beyond his players' performances on the field this summer, he enjoyed reports he had heard from coaches and host families.
"All they want to talk about is how they're the first kids to the ball park every day and how they help in the community," Mainieri said. "They're model citizens and that's what I'm most proud of."
