Hermans wife posted a pic of her and him in Texas gear from years back and commented..

Just like Michigan was always Miles's dream. If alleva did not even try to negotiate, that was stupid.

You mean there are fans who have not moved on from Herman and not focused on who our next OC is gonna be? I'm shocked!

We'll never know, because Alleva didn't go try to get him.

It's not that Herman chose Texas that has folks upset. It's the way that Alleva seemingly behaved like a 12 year old, and didn't even put any effort into it.

UT is and probably always will be a better job than LSU. I'm an LSU fan and have been for over 40 years and even I know that.
Let's get realistic.

Look, most of us are settled in on O. It's a done deal. Fine. I'm fine with O being our 3rd choice, and as the negotiations went, he ended up falling in our lap. Perfectly OK with that. What I am not OK with, is GIVING up on your #2 without a fight because you are a child and don't know how to sell your school and even attempt to negotiate. And the reason why most people won't "let it go" and "move on" is because he is still our AD and will be asked to make future coaching hires. Do you get it? And quit with the "Herman was NEVER coming here" bullshite. If that is true, then Alleva is an idiot for having him as his #2 on the coaching search list.

Can we stop with the "LSU is a Top 5 elite job" ?

Because we don't act like it and don't even try to hire elite head coaches.

And evidently....no elite, proven head coaches were banging down the door.

So we settled on binder guy that literally no one else wanted.

I think Alleva realized that Herman was gone and only using An inflated LSU offer to raise TX's bidding price. This is brutally obvious to most.
Agent doing his job.
Alleva doing his..I see no issues here. Especially knowing it was his and his wife's dream.

Lifelong tiger fan and almunus.

You'll never convince me that LSU is a better job than Texas, for a dozen reasons.

Esssspecially if the coach has history there.

That's the most stupid post I've seen yet. Even if it I were to accept that as true, I expect my AD to do his fricking job. You telling me you are OK with Alleva not doing his job because Texas is a better job? If so, you are big of an idiot as Alleva.

It was stupid not to negotiate. These are big boys. Get rid of that fairy tale dream job bullshite. Money and incentives talk. You at least try.

Again, we were nothing more than a bidder raising the price against a billionaire at an auction.

All TX was doing was adding 1 dollar to our price.

HE WANTED TEXAS!

Yeah, I saw that and all I could think was "I told you so"

I was in it for Herman but when I saw the crap Herman's agent pulled all week I knew it was not real. Even if UT kept Strong and we got Herman he would have left one year later when UT did fire Strong and take his whole staff with him and leaving us with nothing.

I know it don't feel like it but we dodged a bullet here.
