If Coach O goes 6-2 after the miles fire he gets the job, if he goes 5-3 or worst he will be the back up if all the good candidates turn us down. Can we all agree to this? Also, im pumped for Saturday. Saturday will tell me if I can get my expectations back up or not

No, I don't agree. If O goes undefeated and wins the natty, LF7 wins the heisman, and Herman wants the job, I want Herman to have the job.

I think there are only 7 games left, but your point remains.

If we beat Alabama and look competitive in the other games, I say he has a decent shot at being head corch.

No, only 7-1 that includes beating Alabama will do it.

I think Coach O needs to win out to be considered. Nothing else we are LSU , we don't settle for Orgeron, we go get the best coaching candidate out there

So if we beat Florida, Texas A&M, and Arkansas, but lose to Ole Miss and Alabama, O still gets the job?

We pay 10 million dollars to buyout Les, only to promote our defensive line coach that still can't beat Ole Miss and Alabama with one of the most talented LSU teams in years?

Yeah, no.

If Orgeron can't win out, he shouldn't be considered.

No one would be wanting to retain Peveto if he was the interim coach and won out. Orgeron should receive the same treatment.

Please explain why hiring Orgeron is "settling".

If Peveto was the interim head coach, would we be "settling" if we ended up hiring him permanently at the end of the season?

We paid 10 mil because miles and alleva hated each other. I say we fire alleva before he messes up this hire like he did with Trent Johnson and Johnny jones

You didn't answer the question. Pleased have a literate adult re-read it to you and explain what I wrote and then answer the question.

Because taking over a team filled to the brim with talent, and taking advantage of all the organization and relationships Les built is not the same as building the organization yourself and sustaining it. Les was great at a lot of things, just not play calling. Don't get me wrong, I like O and if Herman doesn't want it and O proves he is better than Les by winning the SEC then by all means he should be considered. However, Herman is a great coach and could set us up for unparalleled success for decades. I don't want to make a coaching decision because I like a guy, which is exactly what we have done for the last 5 years with Les.

No. Absolutely not.

6-2 Is not a given. Come on man.

It depends upon who LSU can get, and if they can get an elite established coach they need to hire him.. Period.

I'd also add that it's not only if he wins, but how does the team look in those wins. Plus, do we strike out on our other targets for HC. If O does go 6-2 or better, I can envision a 3yr contract offer, but my money is on a new coach from outside.

It boggles my mind that 6-2 is ok, when our previous coach was run out of town for the same. Don't we want better than 6-2 down the stretch with a senior laden team? He loses more than 1 I personally would give him no consideration. It's time to be ruthless if we want to be truly elite.

I look at a 5-10 year body of work. Even if O runs the table and considering FSU is 3-2 right now, I'd still take Jimbo over O and over Herman for that matter too. And btw, unless UT damn near wins out, Herman going to UT!
