Can we all agree that John Emery may never become our no. 1 RB?

Admittedly, he can be a dynamic runner and we can see glimpses of why he was a 5 star top running back out of his class but there is more to the RB position. The Rant wants him to be the answer but after 3 years, it’s looking like he may not be the answer. First and foremost, holding onto the football is paramount. Secondly, protecting the QB in pass protection and knowing the assignments of who you need to block is key. And third, being able to catch the ball out of the backfield makes you an every down back. We did see his catch on the swing route but he then missed an easy catch. Yes, I know it happens but he can be very inconsistent at times. LSU’s RB room isn’t the best and, is down, compared to years past, but being solid in all those phases of the game is something a RB needs in this offense. I feel this is why he is 3rd in the rotation.

He just can’t put it all together.

He's by far the most talented. If he could hold on to the ball, he would give us a dominant rb. FTR, I'm not a fan of RBC. That said Williams is the man right now because he's the most trustworthy.

He’s not great and never will be. We can hope he becomes good.

He is the best back that we have.

Run his arse.

As for fumbles, they happen. Pick a RB that hasn’t fumbled. The ball was placed high and he was hit immediately. As noted shite happens. He is still our best option imho.

But but he was a 5 star. But O fricked him over. Nothing but excuses for him. There’s not much room on a football team for a running back that fumbles.

He was responsible for 2 TDs yesterday and yes he fumbled.
He should be benched because all of the internet coaches say he's not that good.
He's the best back LSU has had since Guice.

He's got a fairly low ceiling.

He's a JAG.

That fumble was not all his fault. Auburn knew the play and called a run blitz. Hard to hold on to the ball when the defense is in your face as soon as you get the ball.

I thought he look more dynamic than any of the other backs.

Calling Emery better than CEH is one of the dumber things I’ve ever read on this site.

Duct tape his hands to a football all week and play him against TN. He fumbles in that game he gets pulled. Plain & simple.

He is the most dynamic runner. He just spends too much time in the doghouse and rightly so.

Oh really, yes we all saw that catch on the swing/wheel route, one a frigging kindergarten student could have caught that lob pass. Give me a break

No, he was a net positive yesterday and the game could have gone even better if he was given more carries.
