If SEC goes to conference games only. Sucks because I was looking forward to Nicholls playing LSU for the first time.

No. Nicholls State's athletic department budget will be shredded and they will have to make cuts.

All because of a virus with an IFR of 0.26% (all ages) and because powerful people want to get rid of Trump.

No offense but Nicholls as a university should be bumped down to a two year juco. It makes no sense for Louisiana to have that many four year institutions.

I mean it could just close all together and save the state a whole lot of unnecessary money. How can one not understand that a state like Louisiana does not need 12 four year universities

I think the smaller schools throughout the country are all in trouble. Schools like Nicholls may have to go to D3 for football. I think we will see some of the non power D1 programs drop back to 1AA. And some 1AA programs drop to D2 or D3. I don't think many universities can sustain losing several hundred thousand dollars from buy games and continue to operate status quo.

No shot. Them going play a school like LSU or Georgia is what funds their entire athletic department. You move them to D3 and take that away there is absolutely no chance they fund their other sports that are still D1.

If power 5 conferences decide on their own to conference-only schedules, I see lawsuits coming from the rent-a-win schools that get bumped.

That would be stupid! Not only would it cost them money but they would lose before it even got to court! They will not force schools to honor these contracts when player’s safety is at risk

I think it is unfair to single out Nicholls. Due to the nature of pork barrel politics in Louisiana, every 2 year school eventually will be made a 4 year school. The last one I remember was when the head of the Senate, who was planning to retire, mandated that LSU-A must be made a 4 year institution or he would not allow a budget to be passed. This is nothing new, nor is it isolated to Nichols.
I remember one year in the late 70's when Louisiana had 13 schools in the NCAA tournament. Think first about our population and then let that sink in to your consciousness.

Why shut down Nicholls and not Southern. LSU is right across town. Of course you know why.

Nicholls needs to be merged with UNO on the thibodaux campus. They are less than an hour apart and NSU's campus has all of the room to grow that UNO doesn't.

It would put enrollment to about 12-15k which is competitive with SLU and UL, La Tech, etc...
