Other than UK and UF can any SEC team really have success in basketball. If you look around the league nobody has been consistent. Sure some teams can have a year or two of success, but it doesn't seem like anybody can do it on a regular basis. Is high school basketball in the South that bad?? I try and watch SEC basketball, but the play is terrible. It seems the refs will call a touch foul but then let other contact go. Just seems like there is no flow to the game.

LSU won consistently from the late 70s through early 90s. Arkansas had a 25-year run of really strong success. Missouri too. Tennessee has been pretty successful over the years. Alabama has made runs to the Sweet 16.

The strength of conferences ebbs and flows, and we're in a down stretch for the SEC. But I disagree with your argument that SEC can't win in basketball. Numerous teams in the conference have had long-term success.
