Don't let a few guys get to ya bud. Your points are very valid and opinions will certainly vary on the level of influence that Cam will have on pro team's decisions on draft day.
Personally, I think that Cam's praises could definitely benefit a Tiger player going into the draft but not in a way that would elevate that player into the 1st round when they would have been a 3rd or worse round guy.
Cam could definitely put a kid on a team's radar if he might not have had many starts at LSU. There are a lot of NFL level players that end up getting their starts taken by younger guys who will end up getting drafted very high. Those guys might benefit from Cam's influence in terms of going from UFA to dfafted in the low rounds.
In the end though, I see Cam's influence on our draft stats as effecting the quality of out of state play makers who view LSU as a defensive school with a boring offense.
Also, guys like Cam R will not even consider Nicky's BS about getting drafted higher at Bama after they see LSU's offense over the next couple of years. I won't get into CR in this thread but I will say that Bama does not get their OL players drafted higher than we do because of some influence or perception of the programs. If that was the case then all of the players from small schools who get drafted high would not exist. The gump who was trying to act like Bama is better for Cam because they will get him drafted higher is yet another typical fool gump cyber troll but since kids are effected by perception, Cam's influence will pay great dividends in this type of player's decisions in the future as well and thus get more first rounders to come to LSU instead of places like Bama.

You guys are definitely getting my point.
The quote from Cam that got me thinking about this was referring to our fullbacks.
Clearly I'm not thinking those guys would all of a sudden become first rounders.
But yeah I do think not only his praise, but the simple fact that he coached these kids, will give an added sense of respect for a player's level of preparedness to step on the NFL stage.
If Mettenberger was considered a top 10 QB prospect by a scout after last year, he could certainly rise on some draft boards if his play continues to improve, and Cam's influence would only solidify that the improvement was based on solid teaching of the fundamentals that he's so well known for, and not some fluke.
And I absolutely agree about the perception of out of state prospects being more favorable towards a program with a proven coach at the highest level like Cam.
Honestly didn't expect such criticism of a post that I feel is pretty obvious that I simply hadn't considered before

We've played one game against a middle-tier BIG12 school and this place is acting like we beat '72 Dolphins.
Considering how bad LSU's passing attack has been for the past four or five years, I understand why Tiger fans are so optimistic.
Converting 13 of 19 3rd. downs was a tremendous showing by your offense.
Cameron needs to try more spread formations in the red zone to run from.
