I see what you are trying to do and I don't like it.
We should be exactly the opposite of what you said.
Accepting the status quo for fear of the unknown because of the once painful Dark Ages is called living scared. I don't roll like that. I'm not saying you fire Les despite the inexcusable loss yesterday. His strengths/shortcomings as a coach have been on display here for 8 years. I don't expect him to be perfect, but I do expect him to learn from prior mistakes. He appears incapable of that thus far. I think we could find someone better if we wanted to.
The "who would we get" argument is hysterical to me. I don't know. But I think we could get just about anyone we went after. LSU is a very attractive job. I don't run in coaching circles, but buzzing guys like Mike Gundy, Mike Riley, David Shaw, Cam Cameron, progressive NFL assistant coaches (Pete Carmichael, Vic Fangio, etc). It never hurts to consider your options.
