CINCINNATI – The AFC North champion Cincinnati Bengals won't play quarterback Joe Burrow in the regular-season finale against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday to make sure he is healthy for the first round of the playoffs.

Burrow is nursing aches and pains, including his right knee and pinky finger on his throwing hand, but said he could have played this week had it been necessary. Coach Zac Taylor told the quarterback earlier in the week that he would sit Sunday.

Good. They can probably win without and they’re unlikely to get 2nd or 1st seed.

They would need kc to lose to den and/or tenn to lose to hou

frick. I was hoping he’d have a big game and finish 2nd in the league in passing behind Brady

Is it wrong that I kind of want him to hang out with Mixon so he can catch Covid and get over with it before playoffs?

Feel like this definitely goes in bursts so worried about Bengals getting hit in the playoffs

So basically the Bengals would rather host New England and not host Indy in the Wild Card round.

Interesting strategy.

Lol… this is standard procedure. Hell it would be more selfish to play and compile stats.

So instead of playing in a meaningless game, he made the decision not to play for what he considers the "greater good"? What a "loser", "quitter", "no chest", "selfish" individual. Frick him and frick everything about him! No justification whatsoever for that type of decision. I mean hell, I want to see him play and that supersedes any other rational decision not to play!! I mean, this IS how we tiger fans feel about such decisions, amirite?

If you know anything about Joe, you know this isn’t his decision. I can assure you he wants to play against Cleveland. Therefore, he’s NOT a quitter.
