Coaching and a schedule edge for sure. Sucks for LSU as we watch possibly 4 first round picks walk out the door.

Their schedule isn't the reason they beat us. We win that game and they aren't playing for a title this year. Bitch about schedule all you want, but LSU didn't win their most important game of the regular season and Bama did.

And Bama didn't win it as much as LESS gift wrapped it with a pretty bow.

Lemme give you some examples:

horribly conservative = BCSNCG, Florida, Clemson
ridiculous unnecessary risk taking = Bama at home Sat night

LSU's game plan has this random feeling like the staff is drawing plays out of a hat.

I don't disagree, but arguing about the scheduling is pointless. Cross divisional rivals wax and wane and with them, so goes the strength of schedule. If Tennessee is much improved under their new coach next year and Florida shows up looking like the team who played Louisville then things suddenly look a lot different.

LSU just needs to focus on winning the west and let the rest sort itself out. Until we can do that reliably then anything else is just sour grapes.

Oh I'm with you the whole way. I didn't bring up scheduling, I just added on to someone's post and said "coaching". The schedule this year and next year is horseshite but if Miles simply gets the frick out the way, LSU is whipping ND tonight.

Listen southland! Your brain is going South! There has not been any Saban recruit on this football team since 2010. LSU has an Elite coaching staff. They are developing talent and getting these guys ready for the next level at a rapid pace. Brockers got drafted in the first round this pass season as a sophmore. Look at the under classman that's projected to go Pro. LSU needs to relieve Stud of his OC duties and let him concentrate on coaching the OL. Keep Kragthorpe ad your QB coach and Hire an outstanding offensive play caller, and let him have total control of play calling. Does LSU need a play caller? DESPERATELY!! But coaching and development of talent? They are at the very top of the SEC...

After watching Bama roll tonight and really throughout most of the season, I'm ok with how LSU did. LSU was not very good and was not as good as Bama and got the season it deserved. Bama winning in Baton Rouge was no fluke and if they played 10 times Bama wins 7 or 8.

Solely due to offense, naturally

Self-inflicted. We weren't that good in spite of ourselves. All the pieces are there, someone just needs to have some faith and go for it. Being scared and playing not to lose is for the birds.

I can tell how our team with an average star rating above 4 on offense performs so well.

You should be able to see how, by the facts that LSU has more players in the NFL then any other school in the SEC followed by Georgia. Not including the players entering the draft this year. Check out the players that's entering the draft this year by school on the SEC Rant. No other school is even close...

While Miles deserves blame for our losses this season so does the whole program.

We didn't have everything go our way this season either. We ended up having a very difficult schedule in the middle of the season with UF, USC, A&M, and Bama. We also had a young QB, an OL which was young and injured, and a group of WRs who dropped way too many balls for a good portion of the year. The defense had flaws at times this season too. So it is kind of irritating to constantly see everyone blame everything on Miles instead of taking in the whole situation.

The Reality:

1. Saban is clearly the best college football coach in the country.
2. He coaches at a school he is able to have consistently one of the top if not the top recruiting class annually.
3. He has gotten the benefit of the doubt from the media and polls from the beginning at Bama.
4. Bama has had everything basically go their way the last several seasons as far as injuries, scheduling, and their bump into the 2012 BCSNCG.

So as an LSU fan people need to just fricking deal with it. I can understand the complaints about the recent bridge scheduling (also continuing complaints about the stupid idea of permanent cross division opponents) and some of the obvious benefit of the doubt polling which finally led up to Bama selection to the 2012 NCG.

The fact is there is only one Nick Saban. He is the best coach with atleast as good of talent as any other team and is also having everything fall his way. Not every program can be on top and definitely not when going up against those odds. LSU has a great coach and the program is also very strong. LSU is one of the only programs that can potentially take the top spot if things go there way instead of Saban's. I don't think there is any problem admitting that fact. Fans need to be proud and stop being so ridiculously pessimistic.

Now Saban is getting bored and will leave bama in a couple of years to straighten UT out

Shakespeare made writing classic literature look easy, too. Try it. If you insist on our coach being better than the best in history, then you'll continue to be disappointed. Miles has been great...just not THAT great.

When you look back at the bama game, In the second half Met and the WR's were on fire. I believe they could have gone for 400 yrds passing on that nite. Had miles not insist on running into the bama front for 1 yrd on sooo many plays.

I think back to the coach of WV. The week b4 we played he was asked about throwing the ball so much, and not having a running game.

He anwsered by saying he would love to run the ball and throw it also, but when you get into the game you must call the plays that are working.
