4. LSU (19-8, 8-6 SEC): The Tigers' performance against Kentucky (a 71-69 loss on Feb. 10) was a good barometer for this LSU team's potential. Jordan Mickey and Jarell Martin both average more than 16 points a game.

And according to the USA Today, LSU will be the #9 seed in the East Region.

I just don't see how we get in the tournament as anything higher than a 11/12 seed without a strong (if not winning) SEC tournament.

At this rate a lot of these brackets has the SEC sending 5-6 teams which I just don't see happening.

Beat OM on Saturday (and win against UT) and LSU will have a 5-4 record against the RPI top 50 (as currently ranked) That would be better than UGA, OM, and A&M. Beat Arkansas and LSU would have a 6-4 record and would match Arkansas's 6 wins vs. the RPI top 50. That's a big deal

Go back and see why the 09 SEC champ LSU team only got an 8 seed? It wasn't because of some grand conspiracy against the SEC. It was because LSU beat only one good team that year (Tennessee). Who you can beat is more important than who you lose to.

Screw being a #9

10/11 is more favorable to make a run

Absolutely correct. Defeating a highly regarded Ole Miss for a second time will all but secure a seed for the Tigers. Defeating UT for a second time behind them will secure a seed IMO. A competitive loss at Bud Walton(which is a good bet) will not hurt them. Would be nice to win at least 1 game in the Tourney which is likely at this point. Not a done deal yet for LSU but they're inching closer.
