Here's a bit of news: Bryce Jordan is taking batting practice for the first time since knee surgery

Still hasn't run at all, per Paul #LSU

Could he redshirted if he misses whole year?

That's awesome for him.

I don't see him being able to play for LSU this season. But hopefully he can go to a summer league and get some ABs. Maybe go play for the team in Lafayette so he can stay close to both BR and Lake Charles.

I hope he doesn't get thrown out at first with a hit to right field.

seems like to me if you can swing a bat you can run

Not necessarily. He could be limited for various reasons. I've had two knee surgeries in the past 18 months. For both, even after I got my range of motion back and felt comfortable walking and doing my normal tasks, the doctor released me with the caveat that I don't run for another month.

Running is one thing, changing directions quickly on the bases is another

There is a lot of knee twisting in the batters box

This right here is how you win the CWS.

No there isn't.
It's all hips and hands.
There's literally little to no knee twisting.

Have any of y'all swung a bat? Both knees get torqued yet my post gets downvotged 7x...I never mentioned changing directions while running. I would think lateral movement is worse for a recovering knee than straight line running.

Imagine LSU is playing the CWS Finals Game 3 against Oregon, LSU down 4-5, Bottom of the 9th inning, 2 outs, Bryce Jordan pinch-hits for Beau Jordan, and Bryce hits a 2-run walk off HR and LSU wins the game 6-5. :)))

We will need his bat...NEXT season. Guy needs to rehab, get all the way back and be a force in the lineup next season. His ALL-SEC honor as a DH last year was impressive.

We could probably just sneak him in the dugout and swap jerseys. Don't even need to pinch hit.
