It is believed that the fan died at the end of the game while celebrating No. 24 LSU’s 10-7 victory over No. 3 Ole Miss, a game that was sealed with an interception with two seconds left on the clock.

I wouldn’t mind going out this way…

Officials said Brian Tingley, 59, suffered a heart attack in the fourth quarter of the game.

I’ve felt like this was going to happen to me a few times….
quote:

The annual clash between LSU and Ole Miss has long been considered one of the premier games of college football. Among 100,000 fans, 59-year-old Brian Tingley was in the seat he's held for 35 years in Tiger Stadium. "He was just loyal. He was loyal to LSU," said Lisa Crowder-Borne. "He knew everything about that team. He knew everything about the coaches. When they'd make a bad move, he'd yell at them," said Earl Tingley. But on this day, from the lower section of the south end zone, Tingley's family said Brian was likely cheering with great pride for his Tigers.

Rest In Peace Brian… Tiger Nation loves you still

I was sitting in the same section as them that game. Will never forget that game. I remember rushing the field with my friends and when we came back up the same way afterwards the paramedics were already there in the stands rolling him out to the concourse on the gurney. RIP

Is that the game we rushed the field? I pulled something in my neck celebrating the interception and had to see a massage therapist to work it out

Yes. I knew the gentleman. He sat on my row. Row 33 in section 408 of the south end zone under the overhang. I didn't know him that well because he sat 10 or so seats down from me, but I would pass him all of the time on the way to my seat and would always exchange pleasantries with him. . He sat there for 35 years. I have had season tickets since 1966 but have sat there since 1990. Super nice guy and a great Tiger fan.

I was there that night. It was quite a scene. It happened right at the end of the game. It was bedlam in the stadium because we had just upset a highly ranked Ole Miss team. Then I looked to my left and saw someone laying on the ground. That is not an unusual occurrence given the amount of alcohol that is consumed in Tiger Stadium, but then when I realized who it was I knew what had happened.

He died with his boots on. May he rest in peace.

Like an earlier poster said, I wouldn’t mind going out that way and I’m sure Brian didn’t either. Obviously sad, but at least he got to see a helluva game for his last one

During the 60’s, my Grandfather brought my mom and her brother, and his wife, to Tiger Stadium for an LSU-Florida game. The tickets were split up (2 and 2) so my mother stayed with my grandmother and my uncle went with my grandfather.

Late in the game, the PA announcer asked for my mother and grandmother to go down to one of the medical tents or whatever they had back then.

They didn’t even get to say goodbye. He died during the game of a massive heart attack. I never even got to met him.

If close 4th quarter games caused him cardio issues, I’m shocked he lasted through 2014 in the Les Miles era.

It definitely happened after a game in 2008, but I don't think it was game 3 against Irvine. That whole year though was full of late game comebacks. After Georgia they were a fun team to watch.
