This handcuffing hendered Kelly's recruiting success at Notre Dame. But even with this issue, Kelly did a damn good job securing solid Notre Dame recruiting classes taking the "no sex allowed" pitch into account.

Now-NFL WR, Isaiah McKenzie, decommitted from Notre Dame for a very specific reason:
quote:

"I got to campus…and the coach goes, yeah, we have one rule, and I didn’t know if he was kidding or not,” said McKenzie. “For you to be able to come here, there’s no sexual intercourse throughout the whole school." "On Monday, I de-committed."

Notre Dame, one of the most prominent Catholic schools in the country, has a rule against students who engage in “sexual union outside of marriage,” a proviso that if violated can be subject to punishment.

Kelly has to be ecstatic now that he'll have no silly abstinence mandates for recruits at LSU. With this deterrent now removed, the sky's the limit for him recruiting here.

Catholic priest molest alter boys and Notre Dame is worried about 18 year olds have consensual sex before marriage? Religion is a trip.

Why would you possibly bother having that rule

When I found out how serious they take that rule I realized ND is the perfect place to send a daughter. If I ever have one, Go Irish!

No. There is no such rule.

The dorms are either mens dorms or women’s dorms and there is a rule against overnight stays but that is all. There’s no shortage of premarital relations.

You laugh but a few years back BYU essentially cost themselves a Final 4 when they suspended the team’s 2nd best player besides Jimmer Fredette for this reason right before the NCAAT.

BYU is obviously a little more extreme but some places do take it seriously

If true, then a good portion of the student body would have been expelled in the late 80's when I visited up there....there was a lot of sex.

It was cold, people needed to stay warm.

Bo Bahnsen is kicking himself for not applying to be ND's Compliance Director.

Damn, I should’ve gone to Notre Dame .

I could have blamed my involuntary college days abstinence on “the rule”.

God, yes GOD, intended that sex should be between A MAN and A WOMAN in a covenant relationship. A covenant relationship declared by the participants before the community, blessed by a priest (or minister) and duly consummated. One Man and One Woman forever.

Marriage is total, exclusive, and open to new life.

That model has worked for my generation and my ancestors for centuries.

Now howl, screech, and downvote away.
