Did anyone else find his curveball to be a really nice pitch? I'm not sure if he's thrown any bullpens or if he's even worked as a pitcher much since HS, but maybe it's worth a shot? He's not getting it done with the bat, so maybe working with AD could make him into an option out of the pen.

Yeah, and Strall has golden glove potential.

Two errors on what could and should have been double plays prolonged the inning. I am not sure whether his stuff is good enough to pitch out of the pen but he was hurt for poor defense (by a backup and a pitcher playing a position).

Defense definitely was terrible last night. To be honest I was expecting a trainwreck when we saw him warmed up. But when he snapped off the first curveball I was surprised at how it was a legitimate pitch. He was missing low with the fastball which is usually indicative of someone who hasn't worked off of a raised mound. Just makes me wonder if after some work he could be of more use there than as a backup OF who can't hit. I did some googling and he was the state mvp as a pitcher. This thread was meant for discussion, that is all.

I was pleasantly surprised by Breaux's location. If he had a first string defense behind him, he might be able to go a couple innings.

How fast was his fastball?

Say in the tone of Allen Iverson's famous "practice" speech...."I mean listen, we're talking about Grambling, that's right, Grambling, how silly is that?..we're talking about Grambling."

With the concern with Latz's soreness, and only one other lefty in the pen, perhaps looking at Breaux as an option warrants consideration. His being a bullpen option wouldn't limit his availability to play elsewhere.

My main man Brennan was a top flight hurler on the 4A state champions last year.
