Defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko said during meetings today it almost seemed like LSU lost to Florida. Players felt ready to move on to the next game and fix mistakes, Fehoko said.

Good the defense should feel that way.

If your opponents convert on 3rd and long consistently you have a problem.

I think the players played great. It was Aranda that was slow to adjust.

The players missed tackles and dropped interceptions but Aranda not bringing pressure was unacceptable.

Very encouraging to know that the players felt that way.

And the apologists who are using the "we're just working on the zone defense for the Alabama game" excuse are just sad. The rush scheme was way too passive until the second half. It gave Florida the chance to dominate time of possession and potentially steal the game.

Yet one of the biggest defensive plays of the game came in the form of a sack using a 4 man rush. I know that buzz word everybody says is get pressure but if you send pressure it better get home or you are done for. Aranda made great second half adjustment. The D is improving.

They held a top 10 team to 7 points n 2nd half. Good enough w our offense. Time for folks to give props to Trask. He is better than Franks. Not as athletic or Strong armed but definitely more accurate and poised. Plus that wr CJ And TE for UF are legit. They must improve more if tney want to the stop bama offesne though

It was good enough to win no question but Fehoko is referring to the coaches talking to the players after watching the film. Our players made a ton of mistakes that gave Florida most of their big plays.

Trask played his arse off. He's definitely better than Franks. Give the guy his props, made some great throws, ran tough. This was a tean w lots of talent and our D shut em down 4th Qtr when the game was on the line.

This offense gives Aranda wiggle room to vet schemes. He wants pressure bringing 4. Wasn't happening Sat. Would have been nice to see the move to a 5 man rush immediately starting the 2nd half. Allowing that 4th score was not necessary, IMO.

But in the end this is all about testing multiplicity in the run up to November 9th. As long as we don't stub our toe in the next two weeks, I'm fine with it. The D is improving.

I am sure it is much more complicated on their end but lack of pressure on the QB pretty much gave Trask time to pick apart the secondary.

And yes LSU was trailing midway through the 3rd quarter.
