I basically agree with this assessment. I might would argue Bingham 1 and Kling 2 given Bingham's proven track record along with Kling's inconsistency as a freshman. I do think Kling has a higher upside though. I'd also likely have Frey at 3 and Brown at 4 although I definitely think both will get plenty of opportunity. Brown and Larson look so good as freshmen. Ruddell has been one of the top hitters for 2 straight falls now. I'm not sure where he fits into the outfield but you have to think his bat will get a chance either this year or next, whether that be at LF, 1B, or DH. I don't see Mic Paul ever playing here. Unlike Ruddell who has positional flexibility for his bat, he's a true center fielder whose defense and speed are his main traits. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Paul doesn't go somewhere he can be the starting center fielder. Even though I agree Mitchell is ahead of Cooley and Dale, I could see him redshirting/not getting much action this season either because I just don't think there will be enough ABs available.

Frey - It's hard to ignore Frey's size and he is a really good athlete. He is one of the true power bats on the team.
Gonna be a monster.

I missed this thread yesterday. Great analytical breakdown Wild. Thanks for doing this.
With Frey who has just as powerful a bat as almost anyone on the team, and a second tier of players like Ruddell, Larson and Mitchell I think we will be in good shape should any injuries occur or to get a capable bat into the lineup if a starter starts slumping. That's not even including what Pearson can bring to the outfielding corps.

Good stuff. TYFYS.
Is Jones at 1B? Anyone locked down as starting catcher?
