I don't think anyone is naïve enough to think we didn't throw money around to get that 2001 class.
But it's pretty shitty to make the accusation about a guy that isn't around to defend his name.

Braylon Edwards = classless. Hill isn’t around to refute or confirm the accusation because he died tragically. To use his name in this dirt is disgusting on Edwards part

I met Marquise’s uncle in the checkout line at Winn Dixie very early on in the fall of my freshman year at LSU. He was so proud to tell me that his nephew was coming to LSU next year to play for the tigers. He Pulled out a picture of Marquise in his De La Salle uniform to show me. This was probably September of 2000, 4 months before signing day.

Agreed. It's also silly to start throwing out allegations about things that allegedly occurred over 20 years ago as if it matters at this point
Maybe we can talk about how Anthony Thomas ended up at Michigan. I'm sure he went there for free. Braylon Edwards too.

No question we were buying players for that 2001 class. Saban hadn’t done anything and he arrives and we immediately signed the top talent in the state.
It’s no different than him arriving to Alabama and having a 6-6 year and then landing the #1 recruiting class.
