Yeah that making it all the way to the state championship game showed real poor coaching.

It didn't show anything relative to Harris' understanding of the QB position. The kid couldn't even take a snap from under center. And he didn't understand the basic reads of the defensive fronts and defensive coverages.

The kid was wholly unprepared to play QB in the SEC in 2014 and it was unfair to expect otherwise.

Couldn't agree more. Feaster basically said, you got screwed and your never going to get a chance in an offense likes LSU's, so bail. It sounded like BH was more of the adult in thier conversation.

Problem is according to this board, every time we roll out a starting QB who doesnt throw 60 tds 10 ints and 5000yds everyone wants to see the backup.

Because complaining about a QB who averages about 100 yards a game passing is completely unfounded

but lack of opinions is absolutely not what a coaches job is.

It is in terms of the Brandon Harris situation. It isn't his job to influence him to try and transfer. That's called being a bad influence regardless of what his personal intentions are.

I think he should be there for Brandon, and give his opinion to Brandon if that is what Brandon wants. I think it's incredibly poor taste to take his opinions public. That's just me though.

How do you assert this

quote:

AJ is at his ceiling, he will never learn to look off safties and check down to 2nd and 3rd receivers.

and follow it with this

quote:

BH has far more natural abilty but must spend time learning the play book, he is no where his ceiling.
?

A 20 year old rising Junior can't possibly get better, but a 19 year old rising Sophomore can.

If Harris can't learn the playbook, then he's at his ceiling too.

There was absolutely no reason to have Harris on such a short leash meanwhile

7 pts and 0 3rd down conversions against one of the worst defenses in the league in 2 and 3/4 quarters of action at the time was a fair argument.

Exactly!!!! Man people need to chill on Harris starting thing. HE WAS A TRUE FRESHMAN playing against future NFL talent folks!!! He has to be given time to get ready and completely ready BC if not it could be an even worse situation!! Harris will start and will do quite well once he adjusts. Cam is going to help this young man out this year and we will play to his strengths. This coach is just an idiot. This is not looking out for Harris, glad he stayed and our fans need to chill the hell out. Let this year develop and all will be fine. Transfer?? That's just nuts man.... Nuts!

Are you actually going to refute anything with fact or just keep posting pictures like a 5 year old? Would make sense why you can't understand that Harris wasn't given a fair shot.

He beat him out every time on the field going all the way back to scrimmage game. They both sucked in his only one start on the road so that's a wash and he never once got another opportunity to redeem himself. Not once, on an 8-5 season.. Even though we continued to here he would play. Just because Miles can be poor in qb handling, doesn't mean he didn't beat him out. Perhaps Brandon felt deceived.

Now I don't think he has any right to transfer after a freshman season in which almost anyone wouldn't even see the field as a qb.. However, if he has to sit behind below than mediocre performances again now with another year in the system, then he absolutely deserves considering a transfer. I would support that for him.

Please explain. I didn't see any progression throughout the season. When should we expect the light bulb to illuminate for this kid? 5 more starts?...10?...20?...his final game as a senior? It's time to move on.

This.

That being said, his coach is still a dumbass for coming out and saying that.

What do you guys think happened to Harris at Auburn, what do you think caused him to look the way he did?

I agree that he was unprepared but everyone always talks about him being a spread QB forced to take snaps under center which he's never done. In his senior highlight video you actually see him taking several snaps under center. Just sayin.

Maybe his high school coach should have taught him how to take his opportunities more seriously and outwork the people he's competing with instead of blaming others where his former player fell short.

Rising, as in currently a Sophomore but will be a Junior next season.

Jennings played poorly last year. No one is denying that. But I'm sorry, I don't believe that Les Miles sits in his office and thinks to himself, "I don't care how poorly he plays, I love Anthony and I hate Brandon. I don't care if I ever win another game, I'm going to play Anthony because he's the bestest."

There's a reason Harris didn't play more, and I don't know that reason any more than anyone else on here does.

I believe this off season needs to be focused on developing both QBs to be ready to start, because neither were ready last season.
