For those of you who think Brandon Harris is definitely going to transfer because he's the backup QB, I want to remind you guys of Matt Flynn. He sat behind JaMarcus Russell for a long time, and when he got his chance, he led us to a national championship. Now, I don't know if Brandon Harris has the same patience as Matt Flynn, but I feel like he will wait for his full-time starting opportunity, and when he gets that opportunity, great things will happen.

Sitting behind Jamarcus and sitting behind Jennings is not the same

Lol and we all know how that turned out! Now, I personally have been rooting for JaMarcus to make a comeback in the NFL, but I don't know if that's going to happen.

Regardless of how it turned out he was excellent in college

I don't think harris plays another down unless Jennings gets hurt

Doesn't matter that he was a bust. He was probably the best lsu QB anyone on this board has ever seen play here.

Me and a buddy had two good chats w/ Flynn during his career. First was at Tiger Bar during his freshman season. Talked to him about playing in the HS playoffs w/ a broken foot.

A couple years later, it was the motivational talk at Bogie's to convince him not to transfer bc he was 2nd string (Tiger nation, you are welcome for the 2007 NC).

Now all we need is some current students to give a good drunken motivational pep talk to BH.

Oh trust me LSU-MNCBABY, I was a big fan of JaMarcus when he was at LSU and I was rooting for him to make it in the NFL. Unfortunately it hasn't worked out for him, and I'd be surprised if he gets another opportunity to start in the NFL.

I don't care if Harris starts or Jennings starts. I support the coaches who see them everyday.

However, it's more than a little entertaining to watch posters who think Harris should be starting right now, warn that Harris might leave if he doesn't start.

It's like the kid who threatens to take his ball home if he doesn't get his way.

Except that someone needs to tell these Harris backers that it's NOT Harris who is making the threats. Harris knows that he's in a great situation right now.

He's not going anywhere. This was his last tweet. He has the perfect attitude.

Correct...Kid is on a mission, to be the first Louisiana native QB to win the ship for LSU. If it takes 4 years, so be it. CLM is a surrogate father and mentor to him. They have been seen together off the field many times. Brandon Harris is a true Tiger who loves his state, school and the head coach. Highly competitive kid that wants to compete at the highest level and be successful for the state he loves and calls home. Understands his role right now, and is completely fine with whatever CLM decides. He prepares every week like he will play, because that is what Les and Cam tell him to do.

As Arod said....everyone just R E L A X.

Both QBs have great attitudes.

Jennings is a nice good looking kid but how is he going to stop Harris from taking the starting position once he learns the offense?

if harris grasps the playbook this spring and summer, he SHOULD stat next year, and be very VERY good.

I think the next 2+ years are going to be very disappointing for you.

He almost certainly WON'T. Look at AJ; he's halfway through his second year, and he doesn't quite have it yet. It's difficult. I expect Harris to be half way through next year before he knows the offense well enough to challenge AJ.

When the season starts next year, I think you'll see an AJ whose one weakness is arm strength. He'll be looking off DBs and getting to his second option. That will be plenty good enough. However, I think he'll eventually give way to Harris once Harris gets comfortable in the offense. I just doubt it will be game one.

Unless Brandon Harris is totally stupid, he is NOT going anywhere.

He has an NFL quarterbacks coach training him. This coach developed several Super Bowl quarterbacks.

And, Harris is not getting beat up every week by starting. He will be in great shape when he goes into the draft.

The perfect situation!

I was at LSU at this time. Maybe if he spent more time studying and practicing then in tigerland. He would have started sooner. Hell he started in 2005. Never saw jmarc in tigerland. Flynn needed time to grow up, and he did. He saw mop up duty a bunch in 06 and was the holder. He didn't just ride the bench for three straight seasons.

Nick Saban, Les Miles and Jimbo Fisher all started jamarcus over Flynn. But hey those guys don't know shite.
