To be fair the Defense was on the field a lot in those games because the Offense couldn't sustain drives.

The writer of this article calls out the other writer for just putting the blame on Harris without full disclosure and considering other factors...then he does the same thing when he blames the defense!

Maybe he did, but he did mention the defense gave up 99 points. He just failed to mention they also gave up 1000 yards in those 3 games as well

Eta:: my mistake, they gave up around 1300 yards in those 3 games..... 1300!!!

Yes, it is bad. But notice how the numbers get suddenly worse at the halfway point? Gee, I wish there was, like, an injury or something that had been publicly disclosed which could account for his decline in production. Harris went from clearing 60% in 4 of his first 6 games to only reaching 60% once over the last 6.

frickING THANK YOU.

This guy nailed it.

Or...the competition got tougher in addition to the injury. Look BH has potential. But- he is a dual threat QB in a pro-style offense. I don't think he has shown he can go through progressions when the first option is covered. The O line was put in a bad spot last year imo and has taken too much of the blame. Other than Alabama, we shouldn't have been stopped with better play calling and decent QB play. The deep ball, which BH seems to throw well (all world receivers help), isn't enough against a well coached squad with talent. A lot of fans are saying 11-1 or 12-0. Unless BH improves, the usual opponents will scheme accordingly and two losses is a given. As a junior with this much experience, BH should turn the corner. I guess time will tell. FWIW, I think he will. One week until we kick this shite off. Geaux Tigers.

I'm all for Harris, but this is exactly how I read that article.

Brandon Harris' play against Arkansas was terrible.

Brandon Harris in the Florida game? Hopefully we see more of that.

He doesn't need to be awesome, just needs to not be a f*ckup.

The defensive backfields of Arkansas and TAMU were not any better than any we faced through the month of September.

So... He showed he was a young and inexperienced QB? The nerve.

From who?
The OL hasn't been blamed nearly enough for their pass pro, which was really bad during that three-game stretch. Harris is almost universally blamed for his "poor" performance.

And maybe the defense not giving up ~250 ypg on the ground?

No one is denying that Harris needs to improve. This article points to the fact that he wasn't as awful as the popular lazy narrative suggests. In fact, he was well on his way to a really good season prior to the Bama game. Was that the result of injury? Maybe. But you can bet your arse it didn't help matters.

Shut the frick up Tim. You're such a huge douche with the most punchable face I've ever seen.

Listen this is coming from someone on the coaching staff. I wouldn't post it here if I were BSing. Harris has looked bad in the scrimmages NOT practice and those scrimmage stats aren't accurate.

Like I said, I think Harris will be fine this season. He was a top 3 SEC QB and top 10 in the nation in QB effiency heading into the Bama game. Bad scrimmages doesn't always translate to bad play on the field. Now please send me an apology.

Another poster, who said he was at the most recent scrimmage, said Harris "looked OK". So should we believe your supposed second-hand info or his supposed first-hand info?

This is the problem with posting info from anonymous "sources" on message boards.

The article is very fair to BH's circumstances last season...however, there have been grumblings from Spring practice to early fall, completing short and intermediate throws are a work in progress...getting the team in the correct play and completing the short to intermediate throws that moves the chains will be the difference in success and failure...by "captain obvious"...

Why? Blame it on whatever you like, Brandon Harris was not good last year. I hope for the sake of the 2016 season that he has made a tremendous jump year over year.

I don't know what happens to all of you homers every year. Your memory just goes to shite.

Harris is better than Jefferson but still around the Marcus Randall production with more potential. He doesn't make horrible decisions but he isn't at the level that allows Miles to put faith in him to lead the offense. Mettenberger has been the only person since 2007 to have full faith instilled in a QB and he was 23 then. Miles either has full faith in a QB or no faith at all and his his offense reflects it. We will not be balanced, we won't start airing it out or going spread. We will do what he feels needs to be done to win the game which is run the ball, get field position, and make turnovers. If we do that, Harris won't be asked to do much. He hasn't improved to a new level in just a few months. No QB just all of a sudden becomes great in a few months.

Thirteenth in the league on short and medium range passes. If you keep shooting your self in the foot the defense doesn't quit it wears out.
