What he needs to realize is that his athleticism will carry him until he can make quicker and better decisions in the pass game. They need to tell him to play free and relaxed.

No! They need to continue to develop his ability to read defenses and work through his progressions.

Perhaps AJ is sitting in the pocket trying to get to his second and third reads, but it's taking too long. If he quits trying, by playing "free" and running, he'll never get there. BH might be looking at his primary and scrambling when it's not there. That works great in a spring game when no one is scheming for it. It won't work against Saban, though.

Or, maybe BH is just better and needs to start. We don't know, but the coaches will sort it out. One thing is certain: if it's AJ and he struggles, idiots on here will go wild with allegations that Miles has a favorite or doesn't play freshmen.

Everyone should agree that nobody knows how the qb situation will work out this year.

The best player will certainly/eventually win job and that's what we want.
I just hope lack of qb play isn't out Achilles heel this season.

There is a difference between working through your progressions, and watching a 2 hour long movie waiting for the climax. I've seen Mett, JJ, and a host of QBs do it. Wait for eons to throw when they have a lane to run. It's also about him not even moving in the pocket. We don't need Manziel, but we need somebody who can avoid the rush while keeping their eyes down field. What he has done recently is stand there like he has a force field around him. Playing free doesn't mean just running after first read isn't there, I'm talking Russell Wilson, Chuckie Keeton type of play.

He has to learn to play more loose.
