I think many of us have given up on the Brandon Harris project and rightfully so for this year. Next year however, he could potentially be our guy once again. He without question has the most talented arm on this team right now. With a new coach and system, he could turn into the quarterback we have hoped for. It took 2 of the NFL's best WRs and one of the schools best RBs to make the offense click.

I think we will be surprised by Brandon Harris if he is placed into a new offense. He has the arm and the legs and if he gained confidence from an offense that isn't a clusterfrick, he could make any offense dangerous.

He doesn't have what it takes mentally to go through progressions and reads and looks like he has no clue what to do when he gets pressured.

If Herman is the new coach he'll get his chance to win the job back.

I hope you're right, but all reports from inside the building are that his work ethic (film room and practice field) and leadership skills are very poor. A new coach may be able to change that for him.

Harris has all th talent in the world and so do a lot of college football QB's but he doesn't have a quick decision making mind. Being a good QB is all in the head and he doesn't have it . Sorry but the guy is not a D1 starting quarterback. Move on

I agree with you. I've always thought Harris could be dangerous at any spread school because he has definite game speed when running. Implementing that with his big arm could be deadly.

For people claiming you need "brains" to run a college offense is mistaken. Plenty of idiotic QBs have succeeded in the NCAA purely based on athletic ability. I remember a recent year when auburn basically ran 3 plays on offense. You need "brains" in NFL.

Harris has never put it together, but he is tall, has a big arm and can run. If we get a new offensive-minded coach and he sticks around, I think Harris could be back in the mix if he puts in the time. Etling is tough, more accurate on shorter throws and is serviceable against most teams, but now teams will have footage on him as LSU's QB and be able to plan for him better. LSU's ceiling would be higher with a guy who can throw deeper downfield and run more.

The question is how much of that failure to make quick decisions was a result of the Les Miles always play it safe philosophy that was drilled into his head and can it be repaired.

Worst case scenario, a good coach should be able to turn him a good read option running QB as a change of pace. If everyone pulls up to stop that, he can still throw the occasional deep ball (which is the one pass he seems to do well).

Please tell me what "dumb" QB succeeded in an offense other tha a gimmick one? And even the ones who were in the gimmick offenses still had the smarts to know when the DE was pulling inside or out and made a "quick decision". That is for zone read schemes. Oregons QB'/ knew how to get the ball out quick to the open man. Most successful QB's in pro style & spread offenses were very smart when it comes to reading defenses. Harris does not have that ability to lead a team or read a defense properly

Not surprising if true. Harris has always seemed to feel entitled. His bravado and confidence were misplaced.

Brandon Harris is built perfectly for the spread offense Clemson runs. Maybe he transfers there. I really think LSU should take a hard look at Dabo Sweeney as head coach to. Imagine us with that offense, scary.

Good Lord. Give it up already.

The only person praising Harris' arm before the season was Harris.

Harris' arm strength may be great but his accuracy is non existant.

There is not much reading in the spread that's why there are so many athletic qb.

There are probably a lot of guys that aren't book smart at all, but they make up for it with elite football smarts. Harris is neither book smart or football smart.
