BR sports “LSU made that rise with the toughest schedule in college football

In “The Advocate” sports, 2017 “was an uncertain time for LSU football. The overall mood surrounding the program has changed drastically since. Now the Tigers face a promising 2019, coming off their first 10-win season since 2013 and their first NewYear’s bowl victory in the College Football Playoff era.”
“LSU made that rise with the toughest schedule in college football, according to SBNation’s and S&P’s rankings - and the Tigers 2019 recruiting class, which includes three five star players, ranked fifth nationally according to 247Sports.”
Many didn’t predict this the day of Orgeron’s hire. So it must be amazing for LSU fans to see the turn around in LSU football since 2017, it’s been a steady upward trajectory. Tigers thrived in 2018 despite the toughest schedule in college football. Amazing season awaits in 2019, that is the hope of many, for that is LSU’s trajected path. Geaux Tigers

I wouldn’t call it an amazing season, but it was better than predicted and we lost 3 games not 4.

I don’t get their negativity Ben. LSU appears ready to compete for the SEC in 2019.

I agree, and I hope it comes to fruition. We just have to kill that elephant in the room....pun intended.

Confirmation bias. They want to be vindicated about their opinions about O.

So SEC west title or bust?

That's because you aren't using what the good Lord gave you. Les started losing 3 and 4 games a year on the back end of his career. Coach O is doing what Miles failed to do, build solid lines and find a QB and lets not forget refused to change the offensive philosophy!

The big thing that Orgeron is doing that most thought he would not is playing to his strengths and covering up his weaknesses with hires. Orgeron has done a fantastic job in my opinion. His great strength is people just flat out like him. You are seeing that with recruiting and coaches coming to work with him. We are a few positions away. Oline stepping up.....and if Shelvin can come in and be a monster at nose tackle (big if, i know) would make us very very hard to beat imo.

No.
You have to be positive without having any kind of actual, substantive expectations. You know the rules.

since 2017, it’s been a steady upward trajectory.
Les' SEC record his last 3+ seasons:
5-3
4-4
5-3
1-1
O's SEC record:
4-2
6-2
5-3

The Odoubters have no come back for this.

I'm telling you that Ika and Shelvin will wreck shite in the middle. For the ones that truly know how a 3-4 works that is a MUST!

Getting Burrow was awesome and O of course deserves heaps of credit for pulling him here. But one day he'll have to show he or his staff can recruit and develop a QB. If Brennan comes in and lights it up next year I think O will have exorcised the LSU QB demons.
As for the lines, I'm going to have to wait and see that the OL has improved this year before making any declarations. The O line was straight bad last year. Hopefully with a full season and an offseason under their belt they take a big step forward as a unit this year because we will need them to.
As for offensive philosophy, he at the very least has paid lip service to making philosophical offensive changes by bringing in Brady. That's nice, but all that matters to me is that it results in a more dynamic and high scoring offense in 2019. Change for change's sake is useless. This is another hopeful "to be determined" for me.

This statement is truly astonishingly ignorant. Look up Miles SEC record his last three years. We were on a clear downward trajectory. But don't let the facts get in the way of your opinion.

And should have been 11 wins

Last year was a good year which exceeded a lot of people's expectations. I'm not sure how or why anyone would argue otherwise.
