Apparently out of state though. And what if she had a hard time with the labor and it was a longer process than what they had expected...

He missed the 3rd day of his child’s life. He needs to get his arse on the field and play. Weak sauce

I'm honestly tired of the Boutte discussion. I've come to the conclusion that I don't know shite about the guy. Maybe he's checked out. Maybe he's not. I have no earthly idea.

Maybe he's Brandon Ingram and just always looks disengaged. Maybe he's rusty from not playing football for nearly an entire calendar year. Again, I have no earthly idea and I'm tired of trying to play detective, and seeing others do the same, or just expect/assume the worst.

I wish Boutte nothing but the best, for his family and his football career.

What a pathetically horrible take. Sone of our fans need to get damn grip. Life is so much bigger than football. The birth of your child is an important event. Spending time with your girlfriend/wife post-birth is just as important as the event itself. CBK gave him the game off, which is a very respectful thing to do.

This right here is the right take. Thank you for bringing some sanity to this board.

Everyone wants to talk about BK changing the culture. Well how do you build a culture in a program where you don't put an emphasis on people, their lives outside of football and understand them on a personal level?

The level of emotional intelligence BK is showing for his players and the example he's setting / showing the world is endearing and, while not the reason he's doing it, will pay dividends when players, coaches and parents see this.

Or, it could be due to the fact that his girlfriend is about to give to birth to their first child??

Are you judging KB being checked out based on his numbers this year??? Not his fault that Daniels cannot get the ball to him. Go watch the film from this year and you will see that he is still running good routes and getting open and when he does the ball does not come his way.

I will give KB credit for getting his GF pregnant and scheduling delivery on a cupcake weekend so he can be off this week...

Boutte has been checked out for over a year now. I think Kelly gave him permission to miss tomorrow to avoid having his poison on the field. I think he gave him #7 to motivate him but that was a mistake but worth a try. He’s so talented but so immature but most of us were at that age. Hope he matures and figures it out but don’t look for him to be much of a factor for LSU if at all.

I’m ok with him missing the game, good for him as a father.

As a player for LSU…
He lost a lot of fan love the second the Alabama transfer rumors came out.

The fruits of his labor(or lack there of this off-season) are coming too fruition.

He will still be a top 10 draft pick, but will never get the true love of many Tiger greats. Because he’s a quitter boys. Downvote away

Well, his son was born yesterday. TBH, I'm not sure why this would keep him from playing on Saturday.

He has the most targets on the team and at least 3 that could be viewed as drops.

He has looked a bit distracted at times, I am wondering if he has been a little distracted due to the impending birth.

Maybe he’s checked out on the field maybe he’s doing his best, but the fact that he wants to miss a game to be there for his child shows that he’s mature and understands something’s are more important than football

That fact that you think he should be on the field rather than with his newborn shows you’re the one that has some growing up to do

I agree. He seems really distracted. But there seems to be a good reason for it. He has a kid on the way (if not here already) and he feels the pressure to start making money.

The good news he plays at one of the deepest positions on the field and it's not affecting the team negatively.

But I hope he comes back next week as expected and balls out against Auburn for LSU and his sake. He needs to start accumulating some highlight film and stats for the NFL draft so he can support his family at a high level.

This is kind of where I'm at. It's not so much an indictment on Boutte, but just this whole topic is a negative force on what we have going in my opinion. It's just a bad fit for the type of program we're trying to build. Feels like it is holding the team back.

Will Wade says hello. Didn't he miss the birth of one of his kids while out recruiting?

The child was born on Thursday.

The game is Saturday night.

Are young people so soft now that they cant work 48 hours after their partner gave birth?

I guess not bad considering he was a consensus top 5 WR going into the season
