Bobby Hebert is not a journalist

folks agitated By Bobby Hebert's rant have gone on rants of their own about him being a bad journalist.
Bobby Hebert isn't a journalist. Being a member of the media is not analogous to being a journalist. Bobby Hebert is a color commentator/former college and NFL qb. His persona has always been the blunt crazy cajun... that oh by the way has played QB in the NFL for 10+ years. That makes his opinion different from the other crazy cajuns and angry parents (although T-Bob wasn't at issue and didn't come up in his rant). It makes his opinion really quite meaningful.
Les Miles is practically NEVER challenged publicly. Mostly because he rarely deserves to be. But when he has screwed up, people with the nerve to not sugar coat things are either filtered out by the likes of Kevin Ford and Hawthorne and Jordy, or they are not given the platform to publicly to do so.
Bobby Hebert was completely dead on. It was "RIDICULOUS". Even though Les Miles didn't give a meaningful response and never ever will - he needed to be finally called out by someone other than a monday morning qb calling into AM radio as Miles remains oblivious. In fact, a former pro-bowl NFL qb talking to his face for all to hear.

go away..weve been there talked about

If only he had done that earlier....say against Georgia when JJ had 30 yards passing maybe CLM would have gotten his head out of his arse. 83 yds passing in 2 games is "RIDICULOUS" and dumbfounding and it makes CLM look like a total failure to come this far and blow it. Thank you Bobby Hebert for stepping up and calling him out publicly. He needs to be humbled. I think all the hype has gone to his head.

So what?

A specious argument.
He is supposed to be professional at the very least.
For the record, I agree with his position.

yeah because we wouldn't want to talk about the same subject in more than one thread, ever.
this is what makes TD great so don't be that guy that thinks there should only be one thread per subject.

Bobby just asked the question on every Tiger fans mind. There is something there about why he didn't play him. Miles is just being proffessional about it and keeping it within the team.

If that was the case, why not put in your future starting QB and get him some valuable playing time on the big stage?
I don't buy the "something there" theory, CLM had a flawed gameplan from the start and stuck with it, come hell or high water.

it needed to be said.
yes, i've heard all the talking heads and media types crying about "wrong place-wrong time". you know what? media types are the only ones that give a dam about that. i'm glad it was said, and in the national spotlight too. maybe Miles' ego was brought down a peg enough to realize, even if he, the "coach of the year", thinks one player or game plan is the best fit, if its not working, fuking change it dipshit.

Bobby ranted instead of asking a question and should have controlled his emotions better, especially with T-Bob on the team.

GERKIN====you are on target. It is incomprehensible that Jordon was not replace. Shoot make the center QB, but make a change. The coach must hate Lee and that is too bad. As to Herbert jounalistic credentials-=-right and today more of the announcers of sports and news are not qualified journeys.

Bobby asked the question on EVERYONE's mind, not just tiger fans. I love Bobby, he tells it like it is and doesn't give a crap if it hurts someone's feelings. Miles is a coach and not immune to criticism or tough questions; it comes with the job.

Although I might not have rambled as much, he asked Les what I wish I could have. He deserved to be called out.

doesn't matter. it needed to be said and i guess he figured t-bob's a senior and miles didn't play him anyway so... fuk it.
many players tweet'd their feelings. its not just fans that's pissed at Les.

It did most certainly needed to be said..

Agree with Bobby 100%. If like everyone is saying, their might have possibly been an outside issue with JL..................put Mett in. Simple. Everyone could see that JJ wasn't getting it done. You could have even thrown Ware or Shep back there and ran a Wild Cat ala McFadden.
It probably really got to SHep, him being a highly sought QB recruit out of High school and seeing his dream season go up in smoke. He got three passes thrown his way and hasn't sniffed a chance to throw since he signed his LOI.

Bobby is right about trying to run against an 8 man front but JJ cannot make the throws

The only people complaining about it are other media members who think themselves to be a special class of citizen. I've met a ton of sports media people and so many if them act as if they are celebrities. Get over yourself people. You cover sports for a living. You don't make blockbuster movies.
Then again it is a personality type. Media folk. Not so much the writers such as magazine guys or newspaper guys but the television people. It's tge look at me personality. Primadonnas. Every last one of them.
Others who are bothered by Bobby are those in the fanbase who are angered when anything ill is spoken of their boy Lester.
They've been upset by much less since his arrival.

+1
I hate the way reporters pussy foot around the blatantly obvious... like our complete lack of offensive production. At least he had the balls to ask what everyone listening wanted to know... what exactly was our plan for moving the ball down the field?

couldn't have said it better.
Miles' ego was the problem. as a coach i can say, you just HAVE to exhaust every avenue. this is for all the marbles, and you get paid 4 million a year!! if JJ can't do it, put in JL. if JL can't do it, guess what? put Mett in, you stubborn jackass!!
