I asked Bob Stoops about Les Miles reportedly being fired at LSU, and Stoops said, "Sometimes you need to be careful what you ask for."

I imagine a long tenured coach that has had some miscues would have no other opinion.

I'm not shocked a coach feels this way. What the coaches have to realize is that it is a 2 way street.

You want to come running for an extension or a raise anytime you name is brought up by another program, then prepare for the repercussions when the blade swings the other way.

Well he is right.

Like it or not, the next guy will probably not win 110 games in 11 years at LSU. Just the way it is

I was wording this in my mind, and then I read your post. My sentiment exactly.

Stoops should have been launched from Oklahoma a long time ago, he's constantly under produced for a long time despite lofty expectations.

miles has a losing record against west opponents the last two years. bet the next coach can do better than that.

Does anyone really expect any other type of answer?

He could have said "damn he beat me twice and got a great job for 11 years"

Sounds to me that our rivals are comfortable...that they like Miles because they know him and can predict him. They defend him because we are successful already, but we could be even more successful under a new coach.

If you started from 0-0 from this day forward, Les would almost certainly not hit that mark either.

Les wouldn't win 110 games in the next 11 years either, it is statistically improbable. The better question is do you think the next coach could of won 110 games at LSU the last 11 years.
