Minor sprain and we could see him go

This. Unfortunately his diagnosis is the question. If he sprained a knee ligament (mcl, acl, etc.), he certainly can go once his inflammation improves and he feels up to it. He most certainly will be getting a follow up MRI to evaluate his ligaments again once the swelling subsides. After all, there can be a tear there that isn't showing up on his initial scans because of the acute injury. Again, this is all guess work because we don't even know if that's his real injury. Nevertheless, you can rehab and keep the surrounding muscles fit regardless of the ligamentous injury. Electrostim and basic muscle workouts are rarely off limits for ligament sprains...only tears. It's the running and cutting that can screw up a knee in this situation. This guy is a badass...if he only sprained his knee and he tests out that way with follow up, we will see him again this year. My $0.02.

I don't think Miles plays him, (if it's just a sprain) for about 4-6 weeks because he is not necessarily needed. That's the thing with how good our depth is. If you think about it, Miles said that he will work Hill into the "rotation" which I took to mean Blue will be out for a while. Why even work Hill into the rotation when you have 3 healthy(2 if you count Ware being nicked), Magee(is he still an rb), and Shepard?

I say if it's minor he takes 4 weeks to heal and 2 to get back 90%. Miles hasn't ruled Blue out so maybe he makes it back, early by Bama, latest MSU.

A sprain, by definition, is a tear. It has to be one of the most repeated errors in football discussion.

Sprain is just a nicer way of saying tear, it's not any less of an injury. The only question is the degree of the tear.

From the outside looking in, it sounds like Blue tore his MCL, and the only question is to what degree. Very often an MCL will heal on it's own just with rest. Could be one week, could be two months. As long as his ACL is in good shape and the doctors say no surgery is needed, he should be back this year, and there is no reason he can't be as strong as ever.

Do we know the whole story with Blue? I have not really seen anything new and I have looked on the Rant. Thanks.

The key point is - even if he comes back he won't be able to play as hard as he was. Think: Spencer Ware at the end of last season.

if you come back from a new injury its the same thing as gaining 40lbs of fat during the season?

I thought Hill would get some carries in prime time against Auburn. I hope we didn't burn his redshirt for Idaho. I do think that Les needs to not worry so much about rotating backs as he does letting one or two guys get into a rhythm. If Ford is lighting it up, then stay with him. Every great RB that I have heard talk about the position including, E. Smith, Dorsett, Sanders, J. Brown, A. Peterson etc. they all say that backs need to get into a flow and that comes with carries in the game. You can't just come in and out.
