Nola: But even the most simple-minded football fans can see Harris brings more juice, a live arm, more charisma and much more talent to the position. LSU has botched this position from a coaching standpoint. Jennings is not an SEC-quality quarterback and should have been replaced for the second half. He's limited, he does not have the kind of ability to lift a team up. Brandon Harris has that ability. Every snap he misses out on is another wasted moment for LSU going forward. Jennings is not going to take the LSU offense anywhere and the best he can hope for is to be a serviceable backup who won't complain. He doesn't have the arm strength to deliver a pass to a receiver with a defender anywhere nearby.

AJ: lowest rated QB in the entire FBS!, cannot throw or run effectively, cannot "game manage", has only 1 TD in 4 of 7 SEC games, "a QB you may win in spite of not because of", has had 6 INT, 3 vs Ole Miss and ALA, 19 sks, continually declined in rating and efficiency and was shutout in last game. The media called his 17-0 performance another embarrassing, awful, performance that proves he is unable to lead the talent on the team.

Harris led the only score vs Auburn and was in position to score after his 32 yd run when Miles let the clock run out at the half. He was not responsible for Auburn scoring every time they touched the ball in the first qtr or for the conservative game plan that utilized none of his talents he displayed against State and NMST. The run heavy game plan resulted in a 31-7 halftime blowout. The Defense could not or cannot defend against the spread read-option with a good running QB: in other words a QB like Harris, in the shotgun.

Brandon Harris: NFL arm, highest rated QB in the SEC, has the best rushing avg on the team, the longest rush of the year, 46 yds, has scored as many TDs as AJ in 12% of the playing time, can go through progressions and "spread" the ball around - 8 receivers in one game, opens running game by getting RBs & WRs to the perimeter, #2 read-option dual-threat QB recruited by dozens of major programs, has led scoring drives 13 out of 17 times he played, expert at modern read-option and up-tempo offense.

Because we have no passing game with AJ our running game has produced 15 fewer TDs (22 vs 37) than last year with 50 rushes/game versus 40/gm last yr. Our one dimensional offense is so far out of balance that it is 86% run to pass when you subtract for the incompletions.

Bring up a former LSU coach that is heads and heels above our current LSU coach. That will help you win your argument.

First off, you can't develop a QB when you only give him a 45% chance to succeed.

exactly what does this mean? just when did you feel comfortable with AJ throwing the ball. toward the end of the arky game with arky playing way back and giving LSU the short passes, AJ couldn't complete them. the last play of LSU's last possession tells it all; he had a RB wide open (magee) with zero arky players in sight and he overthrew him a mile.

the problem is not that he has been given only a 45% chance to succeed. he has been given plenty of chances to succeed but mostly he has not had success because he can't hit the broad side of a barn on about half his throws. the other half are dropped, intercepted or knocked away. that leaves the last half (or less) that are caught.

Ok then...so Miles can't hire a good OC or QB coach and he can't recruit QBs that have much success in College...including all the transfers.

But it's not his fault. Oh ok, I feel much better now

If BH was significantly better than AJ he would have been starting all along.

from a talent standpoint, Harris is off the charts, Jennings, not so much. I mean Harris has the speed (4.6) and the arm stength, to rival just about any starting QB in the country. Thing is, he hasn't played QB that long, or football for that matter, and came in very raw. He got his #3 dual threat ranking off of pure talent. Technique is his problem. and Cam is one of the beat in the business for that.

I think next year, he blows up. He may start slowly, but once he gets his SEC legs, he'll be a dynamic QB.

Although their offenses, and QB situations were different, guys like Winston, Mariota, Hundley, Murray, Boyd, Manziel, Barrett, Luck, didn't play much as true freshman. In fact, nearly all of them redshirted. Harris seriously has their kind of talent. Some scouts compared him to RG3. I compared him to Mariota with a stronger arm.

All I'm saying is that we have something big here, and I pray that nothing screws it up.

But it really didn't matter that much at arky. we couldn't run the ball either

I wonder if that had anything to do with arkansas stacking 8 in the box because our quarterback can't hit a wide open crossing route with no defender in sight.
