I can agree to an extent that some of these are based on name and hype
BUT
There are still 11 other teams in the SEC and another 50 candidates with at least a few of them having some name recognition.
You seem to make it seem like this has to be some lottery pick because it is not the same as your grading?
Fans tend to miss the trees for the woods and vice-versa - maybe being too close to the team (or to sticking to your opinion) has led you to think that it should be only pure name and hype rather than acknowledge that you could be wrong.

Yeah PP got screwed in the All-SEC selections, and maybe even CJ IMO, but why can't all you "true Tiger fans" just be happy for one of our own. Congrats Ciron on the award and the All-SEC selection. The committee decides on a group/winner (could be video, letters, dice ...anything).
Then they consult the rant - read/listen to rantards advice and then strike out the player set which intersect with their selection.
Then you have a genuine set of players/winners who are not in the Rant's choice at all.
Usually it is difficult because the Rant is pretty divided in their hatred but this time it was easy because the Rant Heads chose Ciron early on and led them to the inevitable unary set.

it's hard for me to believe that we had the best blocker in the SEC when our OL sucked (after returning 3/5 starters)
