Man it is refreshing to listen to Brian Kelly speak. He is thoughtful and direct and tells it like it is.

Notice when asked about Zy Alexander that BK gave a quote about how they can count on him to do all the small things right - be on time, accountability, etc…

Sounded like he was directing that towards Denver Harris while also answering the question.

So much better communicator than the previous head guys. Hopefully the results on the field continue to come but he is a pro in these press conferences.

Drinking/Listening/Typing so give me a break

Excited about Kaleb but he has work to do but the talent is there

Sage has elite speed. High 21mph range. Experience is what we’re calling for. He’s a smart player. Puts himself into a great position. Need to tackle well in the secondary.

On the scrimmage. Who are the guys that need to develop that can be counted on. Who are the guys that need more time.

Who else can we get on the field at the Jack position? Is Whit Weeks ready? Can Stamps step up when called on?

We moved Perkins to be an Edge last year. He picked up the scheme from week to week. Now we’re getting into pass coverage and schemes. Great sense in pass coverage now. Gap integrity is big. He’s not just running around based on athleticism.

Chris Hilton Jr has had a great camp. Back from injury. He’s healthy and made every every practice which is huge progress. Consistent catching the football.

Lance Heard is going against the big boys. He’s learning. He’s pushing for playing time. Find the best 5.

7&18 should be decided by the end of the week.

Zy Alexander is trustworthy does the little things right. Reliable on and off the field. That’s what you want in the position. Nose for the football.

One good practice doesn't move him ahead of Holly.

Kelly basically saying don’t overreact to Jackson’s 2 TDs as it was as much bad tackling as it was good running

Jackson has a had a up and down camp. He’s broken a lot of big plays but he’s also had multiple fumbles, a couple dropped passes that ended up as interceptions and some problems blocking.

He’s a freshman and those things are expected but it’s going to be hard to break through a crowded and upperclassmen laden RB group if you’re making those mistakes.

He's always reminded me of Wendell Davis. Smooth, good route runner, fast with great hands. Perhaps a little bigger and faster, not sure yet about hands and route running but really smooth.

That was an interesting conference. You could get the sense BK came in there with a little piss and vinegar and the same when he left. Although the cordiality of his Q/A could fool you he seems like he’s ramping up the intensity and attention to detail which is great. We need the team to take a large leap forward over the next two weeks. I’m really hoping we are fundamentally sound across the board week one.
