Good read, SIAP

quote:

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- One controversial vote is over. Oklahoma State can understandably be frustrated by the BCS, but the two best teams are probably playing in New Orleans on Jan. 9.

However, be mindful about gloating, Alabama fans. One month from now, you could be on the other end of a controversial vote if Alabama wins the mother of all rematches.

Wow.

That guy must not like his job, the tires on his car, the windows on his house (ok..who am I kidding, journalists don't earn enough to afford a house these days...the windows on his apartment), his voicemail, his email, etc.

Bammers are gonna make life miserable for that guy.

The BCS was supposed to avoid split national titles. That doesn't mean to ignore the possibility when necessary. Alabama should be used to sharing. Nick Saban split his first title in 2003 with USC. Ten of the 13 national titles Alabama claims are shared with others. As long as Jan. 9 stays competitive, LSU is already half a national champion.

That's a good point. But I doubt LSU will get the AP to vote them #1 if we lose in a close game...LSU losing is also doubtful though

But LSU has three wins over current top-six BCS teams; the rest of the BCS top 25 combined has two top-6 wins. LSU beat the Pac-12 champion (No. 5 Oregon) in Dallas, the Big East champion (No. 23 West Virginia) in Morgantown, the SEC East champion (No. 16 Georgia) in Atlanta, the BCS No. 2 (Alabama) in Tuscaloosa, and the BCS No. 6 (Arkansas) in Baton Rouge. That's four wins away from home against top-25 BCS opponents.

Wow. TO see the Tigers accomplishments in black and white is really impressive. What a great season. This article brings out some great points.

Unless the AP decides to give LSU the trophy next week, I have no interest in consolation prizes...win the game!

Pretty sure this is the case, but I bet there will be a lot of columnists and writers thinking this same thing.

The People's Team Vs. Bama

This rematch may be the best thing to happen to the LSU brand.

In what bizarro world should a 12-1 Alabama automatically be better than a 13-1 LSU? LSU would have the division and conference titles and a stellar nonconference resume; Alabama would have split a home-and-home series with LSU.

Not really....
