LSU's biggest opponent this week is not the Florida Gators but the weather. Not getting all the games in will affect LSU's ability to finish in the Top 4 in the SEC, and this same weather could hurt Alabama's ability to play their home games against South Carolina who LSU sits behind the Gamecocks at a half game.

I always thought that SEC games couldn't be cancelled?

Not sure why you would think that. Florida and South Carolina already had one cancelled this season.

They'll try everything they can to get them in, but if a game can't be finished by the last day of the series, it's cancelled. Happened to us at UGA last year when it rained both Friday and Sunday, and all we could do was play 2 on Saturday.

True about South Carolina having a game cancelled due to weather but being they are playing in Tuscaloosa, it is likely if LSU's series gets abbreviated, then so would the Gamecock's games and let's say they both spilt their games, then LSU sits outside the Top 4 as they are a half game out and the same thing could happen with Ole Miss if they were only to play two games and they would split with The Aggies. The Rebels hold the tie breaker advantage over LSU.

They do everything they can, within reason, to play the games. If conditions are unplayable they will be cancelled.

That is from the National Weather Service. Could be a little touchy getting in games Thursday/Friday. Saturday looks fine.

We play Thursday- Saturday this week, but yeah the weather doesn't really look that bad for this weekend.

Oh crap...you are right. Didn't think of that. Let me go back and edit. Weather could be a little bit of an issue....

I hope we don't get to the point where we have to play a "pair of sevens" on Saturday.

Every time it seems we are worried about shitty weather for the weekend, we end up getting all the games in.

A Saturday DH looks inevitable. It will be a great day to be on campus.

It'll be tough to get that Thursday game going but I see the Friday one still going. Probably play game 1 on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday

I'm going to go on record as saying I think Florida's pitching is going to be a bigger opponent than some cloudbursts.

LSU is undefeated against the weather this year, but we also haven't won a game against the weather either. We're 0-0. Hopefully the weather doesn't throw their ace against us this week.

The shitty thing about that is that I am pretty sure that a double header on the last day of the series must be two 7's, per SEC rule.

Any double header on Saturday would be 7 inning games. LSU is 5-3 in double header this season. 1-3 in SEC play.
Florida is 2-0 this season

Is it out of the question to just expand the series till Sumday? Just a hypothetical I don't know the weather for Sunday and have no idea what the rules are about this.

Yes. SEC doesn't allow that. Games must be finished within the 3 day period they are scheduled in.
