You'd think such big baseball fans that tell us "it's still early" would know you have two games left in the weekend after Friday night before you can celebrate.

I don’t want to criticize Paul or the players. I’m disappointed LSU isn’t winning more baseball games. I hope Scott Woodward can find coaches that can get us playing in Omaha again.

Welcome to 2011

We're one epic Florida State self destruction away from being 2-6 in Omaha in the past decade.

My thoughts haven't changed since our big win against Eastern Kentucky:

I watched today's game. What is to comment on? We beat a directional backwater at home. I get that baseball can be weird at times, but back to back losses to NSU and EKU (while scoring a total of one run) is unacceptable for a school like LSU. Throw in a loss to a very meh Indiana, a 3-3 record, and a fairly long run without a national title (by LSU standards) and I get people's frustrations.

In short, if you are the head coach at LSU in baseball, your seat is warm at the press conference for your hiring. CPM knew this going in. I don't think we should lower expectations. A 5-1 start with a mid-week loss to an Ace...cool. A 3-3 start and looking bad doing it deserves some criticism imho. Time will tell if we round into form. That being said, Omaha is the expectation. If we don't get there, CPM needs to have his resume ready.

At this point offer Van Horn. He hasn’t won anything in Omaha and might want to win something. He could do it here

Paul Maineri needs to go! He has drained the life blood out of our baseball program. He has never understood or embraced the culture that is LSU baseball. His style of play is just a bad fit for our fans. LSU fans enjoy baseball most when our team is crushing the baseball and PM has never embraced that. He might win games but his style of coaching is bad for LSU and our fans.

Imagine hiring a football coach that didn’t believe in good defense! Even if he won games our fans would never embrace him because our identity for decades has been defense. That is what CPM has never understood

Arkansas lost to Oklahoma and Texas (who we beat) this weekend. They could still lose all three games. Wouldn’t you call for him to be fired if you got those results at LSU?
