Bet the farm: nobody is praying harder for a turnaround than F. King and Alleva

Alexander, Alleva and O are all in the same stew and O needs to start winning SEC games or all three know they will have a hard time keeping their jobs.

Like hell....we don't have anyone with the sack to fire them. Believe it when I see it.

I'm a fan of LSU, I'm praying for a turnaround.

You remember how hard it was to rid the place of the good ole boys from the 90s? This won’t be anything different as long as they print money in football. Gonna be a bumpy ride.

Alleva and F. King were foisted on us by Jindal. Alexander in particular was forced into his position in a Jindal power play. Jindal is gone.

BoS has become a worthless collection of bean counting automatons.

They aren't even bean counters.
They are contributors or friends of contributors.

If O fails miserably alleva will be gone with him by end of next season

Are you suggesting that those on the hook for the team's performance are praying that the team does well? Insightful.

I saw F King while I was running in the REC yesterday. It took everything in me not to tell him to fire Alleva. The only reason I didn't is because it would've probably get me kicked out of the REC forever.

What gripes me--and I know you can't DIRECTLY blame this on Alleva--is that A&M and maybe Arkansas and Tennessee will be looking for new coaches, while Alleva tries to save face with Orgeron.
Our B-list one notch down from Fisher and Herman will likely be depleted.

It doesn't matter.
We're saddled with O this year and at least next. And probably the year after that.
Just accept it and hope for the best.

What has Alexander done to lose his job that winning in football will rectify? His job is primarily to shepherd academics and the University’s image within the non athletic community.

Good question.
I'll speak for myself, but I've seen others express this view:
Everything Alleva has done ( and not done) must be viewed through the lens of the mandates laid down by his boss about the " image" created by big spending in the athletic department generally and football program specifically in dealing with the HC position. F. King has made no secret that he is terrified by dealing with legislators on fiscal matters, has threatened "academic bankruptcy" and used the appearance of profligacy (the buyout amount) as an excuse not to can Miles in 15.
It appears to me ( and, I gather, others) he went cheap on hiring a HC for these same reasons. He will now deny this, but is ultimately accountable.

As if F Alexander and Alleva have to answer to anyone. They have proven time and time again to be incapable of doing basic aspects of their jobs yet not a single word is uttered by a board member, member of the media...no one. They are untouchable. It is ridiculous.

None of them are in danger of losing their jobs. The BoS is thrilled with all three of them. They are good, subservient yes-men to the good old boy politicos, and that's all that matters. Every single member of the BoS would rather have a coach that kisses their arse and goes 0-12 than an independent coach who goes 12-0. It's what happens when you put people who don't give a shite about the school in charge of running it. That's the kind of board you get when you elect the most ridiculously stupid and incompetent governor in history (in a state with a history that makes that almost impossible to do), not just once, but twice.
Every citizen of the state of Louisiana is responsible for the shite show the state is. LSU is just one of a million manifestations of the simple fact that shitty people elect shitty leaders who deliver shitty results. It's a miracle our football team isn't worse than it is. Imagine if we ranked as badly in football as Louisiana does in literally everything else.

Joe and F'King are at St.Joseph Abby saying non- stop Novenas and beating each other themselves in penitence
Posted on 9/23/17 at 4:39 pm to LSUvet72
No, they are not praying at the Abby they are on the levee trying to convince fans that paying $50 to park is a good deal to help pay for Coach O's 12 million contract
