How about the 3rd and long completion from Lee to Randle from deep in LSU territory vs the MulliGumpNecks in 2010?

Same game, not long before, a long pass and run completion from JJ to Randle for a TD. Beautiful!

And, since I am an old fart, how about a pass from my very first LSU game ever at age 6 - October 25, 1969 vs Auburn.
1st play from scrimmage - Halfback option pass from Jimmy Gilbert to Andy Hamilton for a 55 yard TD.

Another halfback option pass - Perrilloux to Doucet vs Va.Tech in 2007.

Yet another halfback option pass - Herman Fontenot to Martin vs Fla State in 1982.

Others:
And, more of a great route by Hamilton, but a beautiful timing route to right corner of NEZ from Bert Jones to Andy Hamilton to put away Notre Dame 28-8 in 1971.

69 yard beauty from Alan Risher to Eric Martin vs the afore-mentioned Fla. State in 1982.

Lazer post pattern TD pass Risher to Martin on last play of first half in same game.

(Martin had a career game that night!)

I love all of these and while it might not be the greatest or best or most difficult but the QB who will probably start next year made a heck of a throw on a 99 yard drive to win the last regular season game as a redshirt freshman was pretty impressive.

I still think the best or most difficult pass in LSU history would be JR to Doucet vs ASU especially considering he was battling cramps and length of the pass, placement, etc.

Honorable mentions- Flynn's 4th down pass to Doucet 2007 bama. Threaded on a crossing route between 2 defenders.
JR overtime 2005 bama. Another laser.
Last yrs 4th and a mile that Mett threw to OBJ. Fkin clutch.
Rohan to Royal OT tenn in 2000

JR slinging the ball off his back foot 60 yards to Lafell in the Sugar Bowl vs ND was very impressive. For some reason that throw sticks out to me

The Jarrett Lee 40 yard TD pass vs Auburn in 2008 right before he was drilled by an AU defender was a GOAT pass.

The same for his last second TD pass vs UF to TT.

Alan Risher, 1982 against Florida State. Rish rolled to his left and unloaded a bomb downfield that a streaking Eric Martin ran beneath and hauled in for a 70 yd TD.

Maybe not the GOAT, but pretty damned impressive, nevertheless.

Really glad this was mentioned.

My top four:
1) Bert-to-Brad Davis FTW vs OM in '72
2) Bluegrass Miracle FTW vs UK in '02
3) Hodson-to-Fuller FTW vs AU in '88
4) Flynn-to-Byrd FTW vs AU in '07

JaMarcus had so many great passes it's really hard to pick just one. For someone who had such a topsy-turvy career Jarrett Lee made some incredible clutch throws (vs AU in '08, vs UTenn in '10 (4th down to TT), vs UF FTW, vs Bama on 3rd & long).

Also, someone confirm, but didn't Rohan connect with Michael Clayton FTW on 4th down vs UK in '01? If so, that's huge because that was the game that sort of catapulted us toward the SECCG.

I quantified the frick out of that post and you still bitch, Lester?

I didn't say it was a difficult pass but as far as people stating tough situations for QBs to be in that has to be up there. First game, he only had a couple throws in the previous drive. It was more about the drive as a whole. Throwing out of his own endzone and then yes finishing it off with a throw in stride to your wideout who had the benefit of the DB biting on Landry underneath. But Jennings was making that throw regardless of the CB because he had single coverage on the outside.

It's not like I said this was the best pass or even in the discussion but still impressive for such a young guy in a bad situation. How many times have we seen that same throw overthrown in the last ten years?

03 @ OM the first pass MMauk to OM defender, April Fool!
Really, the TD pass he threw to Devery 4th qtr I believe, in perfect stride in a pressure cooker game propelled us to the NCG from there. Was sitting at that EZ and was one of most intense games have attended!

There isn't a throw that comes close. Sure, it isn't a physically impressive throw to the likes of JR's, but come on.Game on the line, ZERO margin for error and Flynn had the fricking balls to throw that pass and throw it absolutely PERFECT?

Flynn's throw to Byrd was actually a terrible pass. He underthrew it and if the DB was worth a damn and turned around he would have batted it down.. Most likely intercepted it.

Unless I'm reading the OP wrong, the question was what were the best passes in LSU history. I'm pretty sure "passes" is plural, meaning more than one.

The JR pass may be the best but it wasn't the only one. And it took almost 4 pages for someone to mention the game winner against Arkansas last year. Was the receiver wide open, yes, but the qb, a freshman coming off the bench no Jess, had to complete the pass.

My personal favorite is still possibly Jones to Davis...but that's me.

All are great memories!

Anyone remember Perrilloux's TD pass to Byrd in the SECCG? It was such a freaking laser. Go watch the highlights on YouTube and marvel at that pass.

Sorry brah it was a bad pass.

Todd Blackledge said "throw it up where only our guy can catch it" before he saw the replay and for some reason everyone thinks it was placed perfectly as a result.

That's not where it was thrown at all. It should have been thrown to the corner over Byrd's shoulder. Byrd basket caught it facing the defender.

Obviously it doesn't matter.

But it was placed horribly.
