Just watched the highlights of Jamal Adams on Dandy Don. Reminded me of just how absolute he was as an open field tackler. Nothing got by him. Almost always went low for the legs with both hands. Every kid developing as a football DB should pattern their tacking skills after Jamal a Adams.

Hands down DJ Welter.

Second place isn’t even close to him either.

Adams, Mathieu, Chad Jones, Patrick Peterson, Kendall Beckwith, Debo Jones, and Keke Mingo come to mind as recent guys who were great open field tacklers.

TM7 , Eric Reid, & honestly Danielle Hunter.

Hunter did some things to opposing RBs that a DE shouldn’t have been able to do

Chad Jones was one of the best I’ve ever seen. Jarvis Landry was a Bad MF on the special teams unit.

Some that stick out in my mind: Devin White and Kendall Beckwith. Once both guys go their hands on you the play was over. Mark Roman was also a very solid tackler.

So I think safeties are gonna stand out.

Landry and Adam’s

And then you have some LBs who were sideline to sideline.

Obvious answers like White, Beckwith and Brady

I’m gonna say Minter deserves some love too. Guy could tackle

Here are two that come to mind...
Brandon Taylor, very underrated player.
Tommy Casanova, very good at many things.

his tackle against lamar jackson's attempted scramble in the citrus bowl was epic and let louisville know they could not compete

I remember the fall camp videos coming out of all the players running the gauntlet drill and Jamal looking like a junior as a freshman. That’s when you knew he was beyond ready.

Same thing happened in 2017 when Delpit looked like a junior in the spring game

Completely agree, Minter was such a stud and doesn’t get near the respect he deserves.
