1. Vernel Singleton
2. Tyrus Thomas
3. Shaq
4. Stromile Swift
5. Ronald Dupree
6. Glover Jackson
They've all been covered in this thread, but this is my top 6. Vernel had the most unbelievable dunk I've seen in person.
Of smaller guys, I'd throw Maurice Williamson in there for fun.

Jerry 'Ice' Reynolds is another possibility. He didn't have great hops but he had huge hands and long arms to be creative.

The "Dubberly Dude"
Floyd Bailey--LSU's first dunker and he could
SKY---even in the old school days
Also, DeWayne Astronaught Scales.
You kids need some history

We had a lotta guys who threw down some nasty dunks here.
Scales, probably the best graceful dunker. Vernel and Tyrus were close.
For the power dunk, Shaq was tops, but Jose Vargas wasn't too far behind. I remember him destroying Stacey King (All-American center on #1 Oklahoma's team). I wish I could find the videos somewhere of that game. Dick Vitale was screaming "he's leaving DIVOTS in the floor, baby!"

quote:i think i saw that dunk, too, because Vernel's name was the first one I thought of when I saw this thread. Of course, having CJ throw up alley-oops to you helps.

Al Green keeps coming to mind but I dont know if I am confused with the singer but he was the point guard that transferred to LSU from North Carolina State back in the late seventies I believe but it was really cool to see some one that was as small as him have that vertical leap and dunk the ball but I admit after watching the Jabari Smith dunk that is one mean dunk.

No one said Chris Johnson yet? Dude went bananas at practice in Indy in 06.

Jabari Smith has one of the best dunks in LSU history
The dunk itself was not impressive.
