'14 vs Ole Miss and '21 vs Bama are two that come to mind.

Auburn '03 popped up in my head first. Auburn was coming in hot with Cadillac and expecting to run all over us. LSU holds him to 60 yards and no TDs. It was a beat down.

LSU vs Arizona in 06... It might not be the biggest game or even the greatest performance but watching that game in the stadium you literally felt like every hit an Arizona player was getting sent to a different dimension.

LSU v Auburn 1988 (you know the nickname).

That was a really good Auburn team that went 10-1 that year. Auburn was ranked #4 and LSU was coming off back to back road losses at Ohio St and Florida. It was the 9-6 Alabama game before that game. A tension filled game with very little happening because of great defense.

Another that probably isn't the "best", but deserves mentioning is the 2018 game vs. #2 Georgia. LSU's defense suffocated Georgia for much of the game. The ONLY reason it wasn't a blowout early is because that was the days of the stone-age LSU offensive approach. LSU led 16-0 at the half in front of the largest visiting crowd I've ever seen in Tiger Stadium. Georgia had a nice second drive that ended when LSU snuffed out a fake FG. Other than that, Georgia punted 5 times in the first half and only had one drive where they gained more than 20 yards. Georgia was able to find a bit more offense in the second half and the game stayed FAR too close than it should have been because LSU kept settling for FGs. But LSU's defense answered the call that day in a game many thought LSU would lose.

the 80's had some pretty salty defensive games
Auburn earthquake game for sure
Ohio St game that ended in a tie was another one

Of course, offenses were a lot easier to defend back then without the spread concepts

#1 Bama 3 - LSU 0

LSU only crossed midfield once I believe but still held Bama to 3 points. That was amazing.

Alabama 1979.
Crimson Tide wins 3-0..
Only time either team crossed midfield was on that field goal kick.

I came here to post this. 0-0 going into the 4th quarter before their OL and Hurts running finally wore us down enough to break off a couple of long runs to win 10-0. Dwayne Thomas was all over the field. Our offense just couldn't do anything. Etling was 11-24 for 92 yards and a pick. Leonard only had 35 yards on 17 carries. Pretty sure he was banged up pretty good already coming into that game, though. Guice only had 2 carries for 8 yards, though. Looks like we had 125 yards total offense.

Great, great defensive battle reminiscent of the 9-6 game in '11. Only with a much less happy result.

By the way, our guys played their fricking asses off against Bama in Tiger Stadium in '12, '14, and '16. Could have won any of them. Probably should have won in '12 and '14. I was devastated leaving all of them, but I can't imagine how much our players hurt. shite.

1993 game in T-Town. The "Pigs Will Fly" game. 17-13 LSU and thumped Bama's win streak at 31 games. That one comes to mind as pretty sweet defensive game.

2011 Kentucky we only let up 150 yards whole game. I can't recall any SEC game where we let up 150 yards or fewer besides that game. It just goes under the radar but best defensive game I remember.

Will always be a fan of 2014 Ole Miss.

Ole Miss is averaging 35 points a game and took down Bama on Gameday.

Riding on cloud 9 they coast into Baton Rouge and get kicked in the nutts.

Bo Wallace was 14-33 for 170 yards a touchdown and a pick.

Ole Miss score in the first quarter then proceeded to punt 8 times until Wallace threw a pick with 2 seconds left and in feild goal range.
