Besides the every 4th year cyclical deal...

Since the BCS era began, every year Ohio State played in the NC title game and LSU wasn't in the game, the following year, LSU won the NC.
2002 - Ohio State defeats Miami
2006- Ohio State loses to the Gators

Pea, my apologies for coming across as a prick. I misread your header as being part of your post, and thought you were correlating the 4 year cycle and Ohio State playing for the title the year before, but you weren't. You did begin with "besides".
