Berry needs to bat left handed no matter what pitcher he’s facing

He has zero HRs from the right side. 100% are left handed batting

Results are results. He’s not good batting right handed. It’s not like his BA is good RH either, it’s usually an out.

In the grand scheme of baseball, the universal truth is that no matter how good anyone is, “it’s usually an out”

They just said it. Think it was .399 LH and .270 something RH

Yep, it’s a big difference. I’m ok with Jay giving him leeway to improve his RH batting, but in a must win series that’s a big gamble. Hopefully the other bats make up for it.

.270 is a pretty solid batting average. And he started the year about 2 for his first 16 from the right side, so he’s hitting about .310 or so since that start.

Our team is overall much worse against left-handed pitching, not just Berry.

He does. He is watching the game and it was discussed. OP is not some sort of baseball savant.

I think his defense is beginning to come around at 3 base...
they should leave him there...I dont care which side he bats from as long as he can knock back to back.

Just based on Metrics and historic left on left hitting, It’s unlikely that he would be hitting better than .270 if he hit from the left side against lefties.

How do you know how he would hit lefty vs lefty. He might not hit for shite.
There’s left handed batters that rake vs righties and look completely lost against lefties

What’s the gamble? It’s not like you’re going to sit Berry, so what? Make him bat left handed? He’s obviously better from the right side against lefties. If so it would be idiocy to flip him.
