The kid is going to make over 100 million dollars in a shoe deal plus a lottery NBA contract. WHY ON EARTH WOULD HE STAY IN SCHOOL? That is not counting any other endorsements, he has the potential to be one of the highest earning sports figures ever.

This is kinda what happens when a kid is not here to represent his team but to fulfill an NBA requirement. Same type of feeling invaded this team except for a chosen very few.

To win in college basketball you have to have seasoned vets unless your whole roster is loaded with NBA talent. Ours is not.

Two somewhat "he was being serious" replies and I felt the need to clarify

At this point, I choose to play the "who gives a frick" card.

Don't really care what Ben Simmons does at this point. He can take Quarterman with him if he likes. Leave Blakeney though...he actually is worth a shite and acts like he wants to be here.

Not to disparage a student who is only 19 years old , but I think Simmons has a lot of growing up to do before he excels at a professional basketball career.

I wish the young man well but this basketball season should be forgotten. What a waste !

Somehow , I believe that there was a lot of jealousy and resentment on this Tiger team this season. I just sense, without proof, that the players did not get along with all of the attention given to Simmons.

When was he ever a student?

The kid had one foot out the door as soon as he got here. He wasn't interested in any education.

At least Anthony Davis (as the #1 NBA pick) played with some passion in college. Just that fact makes Simmons so much riskier a #1 pick than Davis. Don't see near that passion from Simmons. And I truly tried to like Simmons' game but don't know if it was how he was used or not but never could justify the hype.

Buddy hield should definitely be drafted before him, with buddy you have a leader and character on the court on top of beast shooting and ball handling

Unless there's some loophole, it is a violation. Student athletes can talk to agents but they can't accept gifts or negotiate with them. They certainly can't have agreements to sign in place.

This is true but the rules say they aren't allowed to discuss signing with the agent. Of course they all do, but admitting you have had an agreement in place for over a year kinda blows the usual cover out of the water.

quote:

NCAA rules forbid student-athletes to agr ee, orally or in writing, to be represented by an agent or organization in the marketing of his or her athletic ability or reputation until after the comple tion of the last intercollegiate contest, including postseason games. The NCAA prohibition includes an agreement that is not effective until after the last game. NCAA rules forbid a student-athlete or his/ her representative from negotiating or signing a playing contract in any sport in which the athlete intends to compete, or to market the name or image of the athlete.

Damn good player, but with major holes in his game and in the locker room, on an underachieving team.

I get that people still enjoy college hoops yet it's a shell of what it once was for me. I don't even bother anymore.
