How in the hell can you think Ben does a bad job calling a game? I think he is pretty damn good better than a lot of others that aren't ESPN's #1 crew.

He has gotten a lot better, and I think he is excellent now. He was not very good the first year or two he did color, but he has gotten comfortable.

On the other hand, Dave Neal seems like a nice guy and is a nice guy, from what I've heard. But he's not very good at PBP, and really never has been. Might not have gotten a shot if his dad wasn't Bob Neal, who used to do the SEC on TBS Saturday morning football games in the '80s.

I enjoy listening to Ben's insights on pitch selection and the philosophy behind them...surprising how often he is able to predict the next pitch.

Ben is awesome . His knowledge is great . He is a little biased toward LSU but not as bad a some former players

I like the fact that he isn't an overt homer and gives credit to opposing players when they do well. And glad he got to commentate his nephews regional at LSU...
