Obviously this will change as the season goes, but as of right now only three games on our schedule will be against a ranked opponent. Florida home and away, and Kentucky at home.

Schedule

From what I have seen, we need to improve on Defense a lot, but I think we have a good shot at a really strong record this year if we improve like a young team should.

I'm guessing we win 25 games this year.

We will win more than we lose overall and be about .500 in the SEC or maybe a game or two over .500.

I don't know what to think right now. There are some very good individual pieces on this team. But as a team, they are very undisciplined. Against both Morehouse and GWU the defensive effort and execution was horrible. It did not improve at all from last year even though 4 of 5 starters are experienced D-1 players. They should be ok at home, but unless the defense improves they are going to have a tough time winning on the road regardless of the opponent.

Offense can come and go. Defense and rebounding will win you games anywhere

We have to improve on defense. I think LSU played far too conservative defensively on Saturday. Our Big 4 had a combined 2 fouls... Part of me likes that, the other part think it shows a lack of defensive pressure.

I think we rebounded better because we weren't going for every blocked shot, but we have to find a better way to defend the post than allowing them to back us all the way to the goal and hook shot it over a grounded defender.

I think we blow another conference game on the road. 24-7 is my conservative prediction. It is a very attainable record but we must take care of a tough Texas Tech team at home especially after we barely snuck away with a win in Lubbock last year.

The Paradise Jam is definitely winnable for us and will provide great experience playing 3 games over a few days. Good prep for tournament mode come the postseason.

Yes. 2 things I took from the Gardner-Webb game:

1) We STILL have the age old problem of letting the other team's guards penetrate the lane. I thought the addition of Hornsby and Gray, each with a little more height and decent quickness, would help this. So far…not so much.

2) I was embarrassed for Martin and Mickey on defense Saturday. Martin continually allowed GWU's 6'5 forward to back him down into the post and then proceed to hit easy 5 foot shots. Mickey had the same thing happen to him. I know Mickey gets tons of blocked shots….but in my opinion, he will actually have to defend much better this year without JOB in the lane with him.

I get the impression that these guys are not interested in playing defense. Johnny Jones needs to cure them of that if they want to be a really good team…and I think the talent is definitely there for this to happen.

No way we win that many road games in this league.

We'll drop @ Vandy, @ Tenn, and possible @ Mizzou.

Do think we'll win @ Auburn though. Their team sucks even with Pearl.
