285! Holly hell. I did not expect this team to be this bad with this easy early season schedule. I realize we are missing some potential key players, but man have we dug ourselves a hole that may not be possible to get out of.

Only hope we have outside of winning SEC tourney is to not have anymore bad losses and to beat UK once, Vandy, and also Oklahoma.

There is no way this team beats Vandy at Vandy.

We are already out of contention for the tournament.

FML, just burn it all down.

They probably forced themselves to have to beat Kentucky one of the two times they play and probably Oklahoma too. The SEC is better this year so they have opportunities. Just need to start playing better. Don;t forget they lost to Clemson and Old Dominion at the beginning of last year and figured it out in a lesser SEC than this year.

At 6 games in, which is 20% of our season, and the easiest 20%, we wouldn't even be in the NIT.

They also came back and beat West Virginia on the road and gave the undefeated #1 team in the country a run for their money and only lost by 2 in a big nationally televised game.

They are going to need to beat Wake or Oklahoma, and finish at least 11-7 in conference with a good win or 12-6 without one, and probably not lose in the first round of the SEC tourney.

If they can't make the tourney, JJ needs to go.

Vandy
UK x 2
UF x 2
Aggie X 2
+ one or two collapses like losing to Auburn last year, we're looking at 11-7 best case scenario in SEC

I am not fire the coach guy but i think this has to be true. He will not be able to get another top recruit if he can't win with Benny and Blakeney. We will see how the season plays out but he is not helping himself.

I knew that all the hype was bullshite and that the team wouldn't be nearly as good as people were saying they would, but even I didn't think they'd be this laughably bad. Obviously, they'll get better at some point since it's impossible to be any worse and it's rare to remain exactly the same, but this is beyond the worst of my expectations, which were low to start with.

I really don't get the love affair with Jones and this basketball team. Every year you'll hear this is going to be it! Every year it's going to be a disappointment with him as coach. Good recruiter, below average coach. Deal with it.

Not overrated, just under coached. This team is allowed to play lazy. No reprocessions for poor shot selection, getting lost on defense, not blocking out and getting dominated on the boards by teams with less talent. These items don't take skill, just effort and a coach willing to rip a player who doesn't give this kind of effort. Don't cry to me about depth, that shouldn't be an excuse this year.

Johnny wants to be a player's guy and be their buddy. He 'lets them play'. Watch how Calipari coaches freshman that don't play defense, he doesn't put up with it.

Not being able to attack a zone defense is embarrassing, dribble penetration to get in gaps, base line runner to find the soft spot and flashing a post player to the elbow. With someone like Simmons who can distribute, there is no excuse for not having this team prepared to attack a zone.

When you hire a coach that was .500 in the Sunbelt for a decade, I guess you get what you paid for.

That's what pisses me off.
Move the damn ball around, penetrate and get the ball to Simmons around the elbow/FTline. With the shooters they have, and Simmons, no team should ever play a zone against them and it work out well for them.
