Basketball game summary

I just want to let you all know that we have a lot to look forward to this basketball season. I just watched the boys play some pretty good competition here in Sydney and considering the limited time they have had together they looked really good. They only got better as the game went on and I think that will be the same way this season will go. Quarterman and Simmons were the 2 best for LSU but Blakeney Sampson Hornsby were all very impressive. If I had to be critical I would say that we struggled to defend and attack in the paint and rebounding at times but overall was very good.
Geaux tigers!!

Sounds great. Craig Victor should help with rebounding, defending and attacking in the paint once he is playing with the team. A little dissapointed Robinson played less than 3 minutes

Thanks for the update. Rebounding and defending the paint are a problem at the moment.

Just not ER III's type of game, he had 4 fouls in no time. The bigs struggled with fouls.

The expectation certainly is that he will. And I hope he lives up to close to the expectations I'm hearing.
I like the want to go up and down and we have the team where we should do that. But a lot harder to do when you don't get rebounds or are always taking it out of the net because you have no one to effectively and consistently protect the post and rim.
To get the most of the dynamic talent we have he'll have to contribute fairly significantly on the boards and post defense. I'm not yet convinced he's that as I've never seen him play and he does not have much of a sample size to judge from at Arizona and what's there is not all that impressive.
Hope he can do it. This is a nice opportunity for the program to make a bit of noise somewhere other than recruiting.

Yeah he was unlucky and picked up four quick fouls, LSU were a lot more physical which I guess the officials weren't used too and they smashed LSU with fouls in the first half. I'm pretty sure Malone, Robinson and Bridgewater all had 4 each by the half.

I had heard how well Benny passes but in the highlights I've seen, I was even more impressed. He's got great vision and his passing was so crisp for a big guy. Quartermans shot has looked great. Patterson and Hornsby have looked really solid. Hell, I even saw Darcy driving and making some buckets which is great to see. This team could be straight nasty this year. I'm really really pumped. Only real question I have that I hope yall can help with,is what can I expect from Craig victor? Is he more of an offensive or defensive threat? God knows well need somebody banging for us down low. It's the only glaring hole I see.

Simmons' ability to drive deep in the paint and his awareness to find the open man is what will drive defenses crazy this year. Simmons will draw two defenders everytime he drives to the goal and If horsnsby and blakeny can be above average 3 point shooters, this team can be verygood offensively. Not to mention, quarterman is always a threat to cut to the goal on the opposite side. This should be a fun year.
