Sure do wish our basketball program could become relevant again. Seems like the same old thing every year, no perimeter game and no consistency at all, unless it's consistently inconsistent!

Yep , just weak coaching to be honest.

I know Simmons will be coming in next year, but that will probably not do much good as Mickey and Martin will most likely be gone.

Where are they going? Does their lack of game translate to the NBA?

Mickey, maybe. But Martin isn't near good enough to go pro. Why would they want a player who can't hit a jump shot and has awkward driving moves?

How is that an excuse?

Why shouldn't you be excited about having the future #1 pick on campus?

That doesn't have anything to do with this year's play, but they aren't competing thoughts like you seem to want them to be

Because the NBA can't teach someone to be a 6'10" athlete with ability to play the wing. They can teach him how to play basketball. Every year guys who's college production was avg. are drafted based raw athletic ability.

NBA scouts will overlook the fact that Jones cannot coach worth a shite. They know that they're respective teams have guys who can.

I love basketball. This program has underachieved since 2006. Dale tanked the last four years of his regime. Brady was hit or miss. Having one number one recruit is not going to take LSU to a championship.

Unless you can recruit multiple McDonald All Americans and get them to play unselfishly , you have virtually no chance. I have been waiting for this program to make tourneys like they did under Dale. Too much to ask ??

The player from LSU that went pro early this season. From Mississippi. He was going to be our savior and make the program relevant again. Did not happen.

Shaq and cJ 35 could not do it. All hype and little results.

I'm sorry. I support this team financially and I am fed up with "next season".

Make the commitment to be excellent and I will renew my commitment.

And with conference expansion championships of all sports will become rarer and rarer. Time for the Tigers to consider bolting from the SEC, but that's another topic.

This entire thread is just silly. It's VERY early in the season. Let the team develop.

That's how I feel when reading the same old negative fan shite over and over about every sport we play!

You thought the team was going to gel right away?

In basketball it's not how you play in November and December, but how you play later in the season.

Why do you think Martin is an NBA talent? I honestly haven't seen anything close to NBA ability from him. Once in awhile he does something that shows promise, but he's an average college player at this point.

You realize this team is already out of the NCAAT barring a miracle run, right?
