I know sometimes the affliction of being an LSU fan (myself included) drives Tiger Nation into wild, frenzied critical commentary about the play of this team. (Save your posts that you only complain about coaches not players.) But I just want to report that these kids, yes kids, were amazingly kind and friendly to all the kids yesterday asking for autographs. My four sons woke up still on cloud nine this morning. Geaux Tigers!

Some people forget that 1) These guys are young. We have quite a few freshmen playing significant time. We're talking about 18 year olds. We give them a hard time, often. Yet, even when somewhat deserved, we tend to forget that some of these guys are still learning how to handle adversity. 2) Which leads me to my second point, the human factor. The emotions of the game and popularity. These guys seem to be handling that very well.

I will never understand how grown ups can put any of these kids down...it's not like they go to the plate with aspirations of striking out or hitting into a DP...or intentionally make a bad throw or misplay a ball, but it happens on here a lot more often than it should...
But I guess it wouldn't be tRant without these posters...

I have fat fingered a downvote on accident before, so in the spirit of this thread, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Why does it have to be just the kids? Quite certain major leaguers aren't purposely trying to whiff either.

They're at least 18. They're adults.

ETA: Good post, though. Happy for you and your kids.

Ok, if you want to take that route, these young adults were all class, gracious, and very friendly.

The difference is professional players are getting paid handsomely to play, our kids (young adults) are barely getting scholarship money...

Wasn't gonna start my own thread for this CSB, but will add it here. My son (a Little Leaguer) and I went down as close to the bullpen to watch Lange warm up last night, to discuss mechanics and just appreciate an outstanding player. After he was through, Lange tossed the ball he had been warming up with to Dunn, who walked the ball over and gave it to my son. Fan for life created with that simple gesture.
