Is it to soon to start a fire Gibbs thread?

Getting kinda worried about these scoreless games. Either we have under par hitting or our pitching staff is going to be an absolute beast this year.

Scuba was Romero catching today?

Bryce obviously isn't the backup SS. Purple is the likely Opening Day lineup (with LF still up for grabs between Breaux and Beau Jordan), and White consists of the remaining position players. If we have to sub for KRob in a game, CPM would move Slaughter or Smith to SS long before he'd put Bryce there.

Interesting batting order.

Yes, Romero caught for the White team as Coomes was moved to 1st since Woley went out yesterday.

We are returning almost all of the hitters from last season. This same thing happened in spring practice last year too. We'll be fine.

I understand that, I just think it's odd that he would be there at all. There's other MIF on the roster that could play there in the scrimmage and he could still have Jordan hit. Just seems odd to throw him out there at SS when it's unnecessary.

Bryce has handled SS adequately in the two scrimmages so far. Nothing spectacular, but making the plays when given the opportunity. There has been only one error committed thus far by either team and it was by Templet, who is nursing a bad arm, on a throw to 1st.

Pitchers are usually ahead of hitters this time of year
