How does this work?
I've seen posts saying we are 41/35.
So we are 6 over allotment correct?
If Poche stays, how do we get to 35? PM tells guys to walk? We tell incoming guys sorry?
Just looking for info on how we get to 35 roster spots with 41 guys at the moment.

Not even sure if I'm asking the right stuff here.

We are currently at 40/35 after Lochridge's departure.

If Poche signs with the Padres (who have about $2MM of negotiating room currently) we will be at 39/35.

That means that 4 player out of the current roster or the signing class will not be on next years roster.

Typically, if an upperclassman transfers out, they do so in the summer before the fall semester starts. If a young guy with JUCO eligibility leaves, that can happen as late as December/January.

ETA: In about 3 weeks you may start to see some movement. That is the deadline for MLB signing. It's also about a month into most summer leagues allowing for some mid-summer evaluation.

A dirty as it seems, not that different than 8th grade basketball tryouts. Guys are shown the door after Fall practice, which sucks because they're a semester in at LSU.

LSU baseball seems to be in a bigger jam this year due to youth of team and so few signees going pro. But it's a good problem to have.

Sort of like football, attrition (grades, injuries, DWI's) has a way of working things out.

Quite honestly while maybe a shittteee situation for the kids to be in it's a good one for LSU baseball
